He defied all the odds to make it to a teen, insurmountable obstacles, insurmountable danger and nearly insurmountable rejection. I believe it was his sheer will to keep going that finally won the pride’s respect and re-acceptance. He simply refused to give up. Talk about having the heart of a lion. Incredible. Absolutely a story of courage, resilience, and determination. One of the best, most inspirational lion documentary collections I’ve ever seen. He’s very special. One in a million. And I’ll never forget him.

I was so sad, watching him struggling, being bullied, and being rejected but when his lil brother turned to wait for him, I cried. So proud of Misfit. Watching him walking away with his head held high…. He is indeed the King of Africa!

When I saw him as a cub , going over sideways due to dehydration , I couldn't watch the end. Then I see he's still here ! Im hooked again .

You can see in his face that this is misfit. His face looks just like he did as a cub, only more filled out and older. He’s so adorable even as a teen.

I watched one episode where his mother denies him to feed and episode ended and i though he will die but then i read comments where one written about the oyher episodes i m very happy for him 😭😭😭😭😭😭

I watched the story when the misfit took another little outcast under his wing and looked out for him, sadly he went missing and couldn't be found. Animals are amazing, Misfit is a wonderful Lion 🦁💙

Been following this story since he was a limping cub. And I find out it’s in Zambia! My home :) that’s made me happy lol would definitely love to go see him.

You've got to admit that misfit is a survivor. Those teenagers really beat him up when he was a lost cub. But he never gave up. Listening and watching these lion families I can't help but see many similarities to human families. He's an inspiration to never give up. Misfit. Much respect. Thanks for sharing ☺

I could hold my tears when he was being abandoned but I misted when I saw him grown up! What a fighter! ❤️

I assumed this was a different lion, but at 2:47 you can see Misfit limping to his older brother, right leg still weak and fur being far less groomed and damaged from its time being bullied. My guess is that if a lion can endure the hazing/starvation for long enough, the family will allow it back into the fold.

Defeating all odds Misfit survived and now a teenager, so happy for him. I thought he will die when his mother and aunt rejected him. His persistence paid off.

I love him! What an incredible story. I would imagine he's in a very small minority of Lions that went from misfits to being accepted back by his Pride. His determination won over his pride when they had completely rejected him. The story of him and his brother is incredible as well. Really enjoying his story.

Among many lion prides documentary, the prides of South Luangwa National Park is my favorite, especially Nsefu pride because of Misfit and his family.

The story of the Outcast cub really established my new love of lions. I really respected and admired that little cub persevering despite his family giving him up to die. Just a wonderful story of “don’t ever quit.”
