I recall in 6th grade being taken to a museum with the remains of ancestors. I had only taken a few steps into that exhibit hall catching a glimpse of the bodies. I bolted out of the exhibit hall with my teacher (European descent) on my heels. Once he caught up to me, he found my crying inconsolable. His response to my reaction and grief? To drag me BACK and force me to view the horror. I cry still today and this moment.

I will be traveling to Africa once my son graduates high school. It makes no sense that my leaving the USA and going to Africa will still have me be around people that I'm tired of bringing their power to a Continent that's not theirs. Taking the resources still continues. France won't stay away, the USA won't stay away, etc... How can Africans & African Diaspora be so low on the Totem Pole when you won't leave them alone so that you can stay in Europe and develop it without Africa, stay in the USA and develop it without Africa.
