Kraftwerk’s role in the genesis of hip-hop is so crucial and yet so often overlooked. For some reason I always think of the line where KRS-One said “go back, listen to Kraftwerk / everything we’re doing is past work.” I think it really encapsulates the idea that the essence of hip-hop is (or at least was) making music out of music, or turning music itself into an instrument - which of course reflects the fact that in many ways hip-hop originated as a response to reduced public access to musical instruments (e.g. public schools, where music and arts were/are the first things cut when funds are tight).

Skating rinks lit this song 🎵 🔥 breakdancing. I got another song for fun the Rappin Duke song it's a rapper that sounds like John Wayne rapping. Then there was another song by 19 by Paul Hardcastle Good but it was about the Vietnam War. Called 19 because that was average age of soldier fighting in the Vietnam War. Creative history lesson but interesting.

Love your channel. Understand you didn't know. Not gonna watch this one. For the same reason I don't crank a 'Best Of Gary Glitter' CD I have friends from Bronx River Projects. It's deeper and sicker than you can imagine with a list of preyed upon victims in the hundreds. Someone was trying to make a documentary about it but had problems getting it off the ground. The media was quick to make Bill Cosby the face of sexual assault as if it was him alone before Me Too (a movement a black woman started and had hijacked from her) Then the media tried to make Michael Jackson and R Kelly the faces of child molestation with HBO documentaries as if that isn't a rampant global scourge with much bigger names implicated in show biz and beyond. The media doesn't care about these Bambbatta charges because the victims were black and Hispanic males. ---- We're still good, Boomer. Will definitely watch your next video! Best
