After 3 Years I Start Working Inside The Log Cabin

When I graduated high school in Sweden I sought a big challenge in life. To alone, with only simple hand tools and raw power, build my own traditional off grid log cabin by hand from the materials of the Swedish forest. Now after 3 years I have built the log cabin but there are still a LOT of things left to do. In this video I built my table for the log cabin with no nails or screws using only hand tools. I am now working on the interior for the log cabin. Next video will be the open fireplace build, that is a huge project.
If you wish to follow me on this journey, from forest to rustic off grid log cabin, then SUBSCRIBE!!
The clothes I am wearing are from the Swedish brand Revolution Race.

Out of literally every single thing I watch on KZfaq, this project of yours is my favourite. I particularly enjoy how there's no music, no narration, it's just the sound of the tools at work. Love it!

I'm sure you get lots of free (and undesired) advice but I thought I'd add mine to the mix! When making dowels, it's ofter better to do a couple or a few holes that get progressively smaller, that way you burnish/compress the fibers of the wood more and get a stronger dowel with a better finish in the end. I would also recomend figuring out a better way to immobilise your worpiece for the mortises and practicing sharpening your tools more. Both of these things will make it easier and safer to work with chisels. No matter how fancy your tools are, if you can't make them sharp, they won't cut! Love the video and the table still turned out fantastic!

What's funny is if you have a construction background you kinda pick up on a few things that show he doesn't have that same background, like the way he carries logs or how he prepares for what hes going to do in advance. But then his actual craftsmanship makes him look like he's been at it for 20-30 years. Just his use of a the hatchet is crazy impressive. Pretty incredible I think.

Det här är fullständigt sanslöst. Det är så otroligt fint byggt med vanliga verktyg. Du är en snickare av högsta rang. Tack för den fina videon och alla andra av dina videon som jag sett. Jag är mållös av beundran.

That finish really brings out the beauty of the wood, Erik. I am very impressed at your skills for no-metal fastenings too; dowels with wedges, butterflies etc.

I'm just amazed by The time and patience you're putting into your woodwork. Obviously, you know what your doing and all of it using simple ancient tools. No electrical drill or other modern tools. The result is simply beautiful. Bravo!
