Tom Petty has kept his fans and made countless new ones over the 30 years he's been in rock and roll and Anthony Mason spends a little time with the musician.

old geezer me 60+ yrs old now coming back to his music as I took a long break in the 90's-2000's+ from music like the rap crap etc turned me off for a long time. Now I'm binge watching TP videos to find I missed out alot of his talent. Now I'm paying attention to TP music & sadly he is gone now. Thanks for being that great rocker in my time.

I started hearing fooled again and breakdown a lot on the radio in 76-77 then I saw them in San Francisco Ca at Winter Land and became a lifetime fan that night. I was 17 years old. I'm now 55 and still a huge fan, that never faded and I have seen them 14 times since and never saw a bad show. TP&HBs will go down as one of the all time greatest rock-n-roll bands of all time. Their story is awesome of how they formed and made themselves famous. They weren't taking no for a answer! Check out their four hour video of their entire story.

I am proud to share TP's birthday: Oct. the 20th. That day I celebrate for the both of us, for he has taught me to be honest to myself, not to be perfect, just honest to myself, just like he is, TP is himself, and he is one great guy, a musician I am blessed to have grown up with, I hace 2 mp3 cd's in my car with 150 of his songs (many are missing) and each one makes fills me with integrity and rock. May you live long you rebel!.

So sad hearing him contemplate getting older. I so wish he could’ve just lived happily, slowly winding down his career. Instead he did a massive 53-date tour to give the fans one last show. He was such a good person, to his band, his fans, everyone he loved. I’m still so upset that he died. Why did it have to be Tom.
@jillebeling45626 жыл бұрын
Cause he was so determined and had to finish the show ! He was not a laid back person when it came to his music! Loved this man, a humble soul who just wanted to be a good man to ride the river with, as Johnny Cash told him on his 50th birthday! We could have waited for him to take care of himself first! He did what he loved! Heartbroken fan!

There is a category often overlooked by the Hall of Fame, great *first* albums. The American contenders are the Doors, Aerosmith (Walkin' the Dog), Paul Simon (There Goes Rhymin' Simon), Bonnie Raitt (Takin' My Time), the Cars, and ftw/for the win, Tom Petty's Breakdown album. His double bill with the Outlaws at the old Gahh-din was one of the greatest shows ever at that historic venue. His stand at the Fillmore is simply beyond words. The flesh is impermanent, but a great spirit is eternal. I❤Tom, Mike, Benmont, Ron and Stan.
