The only people to comment and complain about this are black folks. Yes I am black before you say anything. Let the man choose who HE is attracted to not who you want for him. I will say we, black people, are consistent. We do it with straight folks on a routine basis. "Why is she with him, she can do better" and "Why is he with her he can do better". These are comments made even if both people are black. We just find something to critique or comment on. It's not for anyone to understand except the people in the relationship.

Now, with the introduction of Gay Pride Month, the negative attitude has shifted. Not only do we have to deal with attacks from the Caucasian culture, but also from a culture that has experienced racism, knows that uncomfortable feeling all too well, and has now found another culture to align with to spread the same hate.

Or, speak on how gay blacks have taken over the black movement and conflated it to one. The two movements need to remain separate. Everyone's movements have always benefited from piggybacking on the black movement, and it is wrong! White women did it in the '20s, Jews have done it pretending to be pro black but were inserting their causes into our movement on the sly, white Progressives recently tried to get blacks to speak out for Mexican immigration of all things while we were being shot by cops running in the opposite direction, and now LGBTs??? I just want everyone to stop using black's platforms as a springboard for their own.

Great Interview, yet again Tam! Byron is definitely a BEAUTIFUL young man inside and out. I am happy for him but why do most successful gay black men end up dating white men? He attends an HBCU, so you mean to tell me that there weren't any 'good/worthy' black gay men on campus? I'm just tired of seeing our successful black men being taken by white men and women. It's really discouraging and hurtful.

The only people to comment and complain about this are black folks. Yes I am black before you say anything. Let the man choose who HE is attracted to not who you want for him. I will say we, black people, are consistent. We do it with straight folks on a routine basis. "Why is she with him, she can do better" and "Why is he with her he can do better". These are comments made even if both people are black. We just find something to critique or comment on. It's not for anyone to understand except the people in the relationship.

He IS the first openly gay man to come out as a football player at an HBCU. That isn't easy or common within the majority of primarily Black families. Including my own. My brother didn't play football but our parents never accepted his "life style" as they referred to my brother's life. He spent his 20s after FSU and his early 30s living apart from our family. We lost a lot of time together as a family. Now he's gone and our parents are gone. I wished my parents were more tolerate and accepting like this man's mother. Best of luck to him. He will be okay. It's different now than in 1995.❤🧡🩷🖤🤎🩵💙💚💛🙏🏽

There is nothing wrong with dating another human being no matter what they look like or where they are from. Trust me there are millions of people dating their own race, it’s just people like you that isn’t seeing beyond the spectrum and realizing the world is bigger than you think. People like you are the exact reason why we can’t all come together and just love no matter what we look like. Love is love and not everybody is the same. Imagine if we were all the same and everyone was angry, judgmental, unforgiving and ignorant? 🤮
