I wonder why is there no option for changing fade-in of the particles during its birth stage? In my situation I need particles to pop up abruptly with full 100% opacity, without any smooth fade-in when they appear.

couldn't you just change the mode to screen on the leaf? that will remove the white background.

There are several tools that could be used to remove the background, but my class was already well-versed in blending modes. I know the Linear Color Key + Invert seems like a bit more work than needed, but it was a good opportunity to introduce two new tools in one project. But yes, changing the blending mode should also achieve the same effect. Thank you!
