It's a family affair on After Hours, with Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk joining his father Louie and Scott Oake, featuring a special call from his mother Cindy.

What a great kid and a great father. Great job hockey night

Kid’s gonna be great. He was one of the only players who actually was playing tonight and you could tell he really wanted to get a goal for his dad. In a few years he’ll be a perennial 20 goal man and I’m confident he will hit 30 a few times. Now we just gotta hope at least one of Senyshyn and Zboril turn into something as well then we’ll really have had a good haul from that 2015 draft.

El Fuego 52 Hey, how is the team that did draft barzal looking this year?
@Bline-ip6et6 жыл бұрын
John Farlio pretty damn good considering the fact that without him they’d be dead last. Imagine the damage he could be doing with Boston if he was drafted by them
@Joseph-lj4sp6 жыл бұрын
El Fuego 52 realistically he wouldn’t of done nearly as well this year with us considering he’d be getting a much more limited role with us than he is with NYI. Granted we still should of got him instead of Senyshyn but the latter isn’t the worst player we could of ended up with

Bruce County Proud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Louie watched you when I worked at the Port Elgin Arena - and watched my brothers Tom and Bill Jacques practiced and played hockey. You've come a long way! And looking at this interview I can see you and your wife have instilled in your kids to work hard and stay positive - and the love of family. Loved seeing your mom Louie on the draft video too! Still happy to see you are humble and down to earth and passing that on to Jake!

In general, does anyone else find it odd that Louie Debrusk has always been a big tall husky dude with respect to his frame and his build even without the consideration of working out just in general a big boned guy , while his son has almost the complete opposite build & frame. Not the first father son I’ve seen like this, but it’s interesting because the male genetic blueprint comes directly from your dad right you would expect certain things to be exactly the same. Random thought but I find it fascinating. Even with my old man completely different build, he’s just bigger bone like his Hand is the size of a baseball glove has a biggeer frame different dimensions with respect to proportion, arm length shoulders chest and height.

I doubt Jake is too happy or any of us Bruins fans are too happy about losing Zdeno Chara, but he's gonna be one of the star players that saves the team. He's a great player and from every interview I've seen he comes off as an articulate and really good person. His dad I'm embarrassed to say I don't remember in the NHL, but I looked him up on KZfaq he was a really heavy enforcer and that is the one thing from the old NHL I miss. I know it had to get less dangerous, but we lost something there. I prefer the new NHL, but that isn't to say I don't miss my younger years. It wasn't just hockey I was happier and felt safer in the world. It's a scary place now and hockey has turned into a security blanket for me. I hate to put it that way, but I'd rather be honest.

Believe that was Bobby Orr shaking Loui's hand at the start of the interview
@ellenw3913 жыл бұрын
Actually if it was Bruins affiliated my guess would have been Derek Sanderson. That looks closer to how he walks than Bobby, at least the last time I saw him (although pretty sure he started using a cane). Sadly, that's the gait of a great many former pro Hockey players after 60...or earlier
