I doubt anyone will see this but there is a story about my great grandpa where an individual went missing near where he lived on a lake. So, he went to the closest location on the lake where she was last spotted (a bridge for an over crossing on the lake) and jumped off. He let his body go limp and let the current take him wherever it led, which was straight to the location of the missing person’s body tangled up in a bunch of sticks and moss. Best part of this was he did it all on a buzz. Legendary papaw.

I looked at it almost every day the entire time I was there so when I first heard they were found it brought back a flood of nostalgia. Now that I’m a father myself my heart aches even more for their families. 20 years of not knowing and of living with the last memory of them had to have been gut wrenching. I think they both must have been unconscious most likely. My guess at least. The car was almost intact. You could open the windows or doors after the car was filled with water. It is just silly to put heavy blame on this Sheriff. He came into office after the disappearance. New evidence surfaced that changed the outlook on where to look in the county. He already had aroused suspicions that the wrong areas were searched. Now what he did right was embrace free help to search those areas at no expense to his agency. He was grateful for the help and even pointed that free help to the very areas he had grown suspicious of. People forget that these departments run on a budget and must justify every expense. Not a great defense but still a fact. Kudos to this man for being open and accepting of help when offered. So many other people in charge consider the offer of help as an insult instead of what it really is. They are also ungrateful for the assistance they recieved when the case gets closed as well.

Very sad. Everyone should look up the videos that show you how to get out of a sinking car NOW! "Seatbelts, windows, out - children first. That means, get your seatbelts off, then get the windows open, then kids out - oldest first” He said even if the car's windows were electric, they would work for at least 10 to 60 seconds. Or smash them. Once the windows are open, help children or others who may need assistance, out of the vehicle. "Especially with children, push them out of the window ahead of you, then follow them," Dr Giesbrecht said. If there are multiple children, his advice is to go from oldest to youngest. While this may defy a parent's instinct to help the younger children first, Dr Giesbrecht said older children could then be instructed to climb out and hold on as the adult gets younger children out. @@katiedotson704 I mean 'closure' as to finally finding out what happened to them and discovering their bodies - that's all, nothing more than that. It is obvious what happened as it was a car accident and of course, nobody will know why it happened, but more than likely an error of judgement at the time, or an animal crossing the road etc - who knows. The fact that a lost loved one's body is discovered after many years is actually very helpful to most people who have lost them - we are all different and see things in our own ways. A friend of mine took the initiative to stand by the side of police and firefighters in emergencies as the small town parson or vicar who he is. At first he met refusal, but by and by he got accepted and involved. He then got the proper, official safety training, protective clothing, helmet of a real firefighter and his electonic devices that alarm him. When a house is on fire he cares for the people who see their belongings and family memories go up in flames (not unlikely when farms catch fire and not even the cattle can be dragged out or their stables), and when there is an accident it is him who walks side by side with the police when it comes to ring at people's doors. They once had to wriggle the shotgun out of a farmer's hand who was going to blast his head off when he heard that he would never see his son again (motorcycle acident).

Never found anywhere to turn around and ended up in a bunch of snow right next to a raging river still didn't see anywhere good to turn around so kept going through the snow thinking at least it's a Subaru. Came up to a down tree blocking the road up ahead so I breaked then the car skidded towards the river. Thank God there must have been a gaurdrail or something there I couldn't see under the snow or just God's Angeles because the car stopped right at the edge of the river.

@@SticksAandstonesBozo sorry bud, but Jarred keeps saying over and over again that the police force in many counties just don't have the right equipment to do the job. And even Jarred sometimes missed, just to visit back later and then find it. Joke or no joke, i do agree that Jarred start this great movement and a niche to find these cars & victim's. end of the day that really matters. Be safe!

High resolution sonar with colored screens, side scan capability, GPS mapping, and paper graph printing option gear has been sold by Bass Pro Shops and Cabalas outdoors stores for over 20 years, they even have underwater cameras and auto pilot that will follow depth contour, past fishing paths, or steer your boat to any marked waypoint you want. It's not even that expensive anymore.

"Has it ever made you angry?" A father missing his beloved daughter for 21 years... I can't imagine the kind of pain he went through. Being angry is just one among many emotions he had to experience throughout the years. May your daughter rest in peace, and shall you find peace after all these years...

My hubby watches alot of these type guys, magnet fishing and recoveries and such and usually the police are mad, upset, angry what have you that things were found. Its so refreshing to see a sheriff use these folks to their advantage. RIP folks, so glad you're at peace now.
@dougrogers38362 жыл бұрын
I watch them too. I have only seen one detective give them a hassle due to a body recovery. When the chief or Sherrif found out he was disciplined and an apology was given. Other agencies due to their policies and protocols regarding who can remove a body, have worked with them to the degree they were allowed to. Now on the magnet fishing etc., a lot of cops don't want to be involved, and a few got hissy. But overall they appreciate them and their efforts.

That's mainly because as a police force they have laws and regulations and designated teams. A private man essentially doing this out of his free will does not have the same regulations as the police force. People really need to think about this stuff before they post stupid shit online
