@@templer314 Not the same thing at all! To compare these Kitgum Okello buffoons' overthrow of a democratically elected government to Akena's engagement with M7 regime, no matter how jarring, is a very weak argument at best, and a sorry attempt to shield dangerous buffoons. I mean, look where these Okello idiots got Uganda to! ... The 2 are incomparable and it's a false argument, if you understand that. Besides, this is about these buffoons, not about anyone else. Do not turn the light on someone else. Argue your point in defense of your BUFFOONS, don't distract and dodge the issue. Buffoonery must be seen for what it is/was. A sad and costly event in Uganda's history!

@@lemungagenu5103 Obote described M7 as a bandit, a terrorist, a foreigner, a killer, a genocidaire, a consummate liar etc etc etc Who in their right mind can delude himself that he can have constructive dialogue with a person having such a toxic profile!!!!!!! So many have tried this approach and were betrayed by M7. Despite being so called educated and having the benefit of hindsight he has walked into the same trap. What Akena is doing is selling his soul to the devil, don’t give us BS that its constructive dialogue. Do you agree with Obote’s characterization of M7? By the way, I happen to think Obote was the best president Uganda ever had. He was a great man who made great mistakes.

@@okema207 Hundred % agree with Mzee Obote's characterization and history has bore him out for all to see. Also, I noted above that yes, Akena's "engagement" with M7 is at best, jarring. So, no complaints from me about your pessimism regarding Akena/M7 engagement. Besides, Mzee Obote's shoes are probably too big for the poor son to fill. We are together thus far! Now, more relevant to this thread's exchange, do you agree with my characterization of the Okello Junta as a bunch of baffoons? Cheers!

We Ugandans we need to start saying the truth, what is the truth of the matter, after 30 years plus, I grew up seeing coffee at my grands home which is no more. Yes Uganda has developed to some extent but not to the deserved levels after 30 years, In Busoga we had Busoga Growers which was uniting the basoga, but I was shocked to find foreigners, Indians, I am wondering why busoga, We have 2 power generation plants in busoga and jinja to be specific, but the way power disturbs the region you can not imagine, its always on and off regularly. The road are very bad. Education system in jinja was the best in the entire country. look at Jinja schools. Jinja was the industrial hub for the country., we had repone hotel in jinja, it was among the best hotels in the country, go and visit it, the land was grabbed. Busoga Leaders, please help us to restore our region back.

For instance what was the role on one Tiny Rowland on M7"s March to Kampala.moi was blinded by what he saw as luo political reemergence through their cousins in Uganda. New vision TV excerpts justifying M7 junta power capture. Tell the world that M7 didn't respect the Nairobi peace accord coz as negotiations were ongoing, the M7 rebels used to wear gov't forces uniforms causing havoc across Uganda especially Luweero and people hated gov't more and helped the M7 junta to take over. Many formerly rebels now in gov't testify to this. M7 has never been committed to a Peaceful Uganda and it's the reason he hasn't allowed a power transition for now almost 40 yrs.

@@nowalubega1475 Ha ha, simply a case of misplaced trust my man! So Obote trusted fellow Ugandans to lead a Ugandan institution. Not a bad thing necessarily, right?! Remember, that national army was a very young institution then. And, like all Ugandan institutions, he had recently embarked on professionalizing, with recent graduates still only making their ways up the ranks! Don't forget, even the British, who presumably were smart enough, at least to inspire your first name, promoted their own buffoon, Idi Amin, in the Army ranks. You begin to understand now, that it wasn't a simple case of "appoint buffoons to lead the army", right? Also remember, these buffoons were World War veterans who had also recently fought very well in removing dictator Idi Amin. Now do you have a little more sympathy for poor Obote? ... Besides, look what the 34 yrs dictator M7 has used his "professional" army for. Genocide against Northerners, brutalizing the population and opposition, national theft, attacking major institutions like courtrooms, parliament, university campuses, the list is long man. Longer than Obote's, Amin's, Binaisa's and any other leader combined! Isn't Obote a rockstar in comparison? Be honest.

@@chrisogonas Bruh, Uganda being the deeply tribalistic country it has become during M7's 34 yr regime, most Ugandans, especially the Bantu ethnicities, have drunk the anti-Luo and anti North poison Museveni has served via anti Luo propaganda and false revisions of Uganda's history. Unfortunately, many central/south western ethnicities are complacent, ignorant and lazy, as are most other ethnicities including northern ones. Uganda is a gone case man, no real fundamental positive change foreseeble in the near horizon bruh; but still we persevere and hope! Sadly, no help or Union has come from other Luos in the region. While Museveni has strengthened ties with ethnic relations of Rwanda, Burundi, Congo through mostly deadly coalitions, the Kenyan Luos, Sudanese Luos, Ethiopian and Congolese Luos have not realized the danger M7 poses while he works for his master's and sponsors, the white man of America and Britain. Other Luos ignored or were simply ignorant (unaware) of the Genocide against Luos in Northern Uganda, the death of millions in Africa's great war of death and pillage in Congo, S. Sudan etc etc. But there is a Ugandan Luo saying; Watum Kuu! Hence, no one despairs. God has a way of always reestablishing equilibrium. It's just us, man, we never learn from own and others' past mistakes! ... Sorry for the length!

The job of the Ugandan Army was to kill the terrorist who were killing innocent civilians, what is the problem with that?

He is a much much worse killer than all these buffoons combined. That's how he was able to work with them, then betray them like the snake he is known as. Do you not agree?

@@lemungagenu5103 M7 has betrayed many who have foolishly allied with him including fellow bush fighters that helped to propel him to power. He betrayed president Obote by going to the bush, he betrayed Andrew Kayira, he betrayed those who foolishly followed him to the bush promising democracy and all kinds of nonsense. That is why his former bush colleagues have deserted him in droves. Basigye and many many others. Therefore this phenomena is not unique to the Okello Generals. The majority of those fooled by M7 were highly educated but still were still duped which according to your flawed theory is an impossibility. Five years before going to the bush M7 was openly threating taking up arms against the government of Uganda. Rather than arrest him and disrupt the terror network, the president warned him that should he make such a move he would be followed and dealt with in the bush. Had the president taken the threat against his government seriously and acted history would have taken a different course. It was politicians who gave M7 space thrive in Ugandan politics and build his network and therefore sowing the seeds of their own destruction for many of them. These are not excuses but facts, events don't happen in a vacuum, its part of a chain reaction.

@@okema207 sorry man, mine ain't no theory. Just hard cold facts served up straight, for all who care to cast aside base tribal instincts, and simply see how we got ourselves here. Try as hard as you may, but you can never present any excuse good enough to exonerate those Okello buffoons from the harm they caused Uganda. Never ever! ...

@okema, also, you seem to forget or are simply ignorant of the fact that Dr. Obote's democratically elected government was overthrown, in a military coup, by the Kitgum Okello BUFFOONS. It was not M7 who betrayed Obote. It was these BUFFOONS. Do not rewrite history. Besides, Obote had mostly already destroyed the M7 rebel outfit and already reduced them to a mere ragtag group of bandits confined in the mountain region, with M7 himself already forced back into exile with his family in Gothenburg Sweden. So don't come here and try to mispresent history in defence of your idiotic Okello BUFFOONS! Come on now!!
