After work. F.Sor : Theme and variations Op.9

After a day of teaching,inspired by my students,I switched on my mobile and did this video.
Sors variations on a theme from Mozarts opera ’The Magic Flute’ is really a fun piece to play
when you’re a bit tired and your brain is full of music.
I didn’t have my microphone with me so the sound is a bit ’retro’. Like a really old recording,
but that also gives a special atmosphere…
And yes,I know…there is a beautiful introduction in this piece,which I didn’t play this time.
Recorded in my room at the Academy of Music in Malmö on my Lozano guitar

Yes. I agree wholeheartedly. I remember in 1973 or 74 when Swedish television made a little report about this young new guitarist studying I think in Malmö. I've been following in your footsteps ever since. Thanks for the music Göran❤

This evokes a sensation akin to encountering one of Tárrega's études from long ago, or perhaps even surpasses it. Unearthing the beauty within that piece, which we once found so accessible, transcends everything and is truly exquisite. Thanks to you, I feel emboldened to revisit the sonatina I practiced in my youth today. If Goethe claimed that the eternal feminine would save us, then I dare say today that the beauty of basic music will redeem us.

estupenda interpretación: tengo la música en mi cabeza desde hace cuarenta y tres años y es así como la han dibujado tus manos. Después de haberla escuchado me quedaré con el tramo final varios días dando vueltas en la cabeza. Hubo un tiempo en que la toqué de memoria, y ahora debiera levantarme a buscar la partitura.

Lovely interpretation. Maestro Söllscher, may I ask you to share your ideas about your own technique especially your right hand? I see you have personal choices on fingerings your scales, arpeggios and repetitive notes. Maybe you already have some work about that. Please let me know about it, if possible. Your playing sound extremelly fluid. Thanks for letting us listen to your music.

Thanks a lot 🙏 I guess I’m inspired by lute technique. The thumb is a strong,indipendent and very useful finger so I think I use it more than many other guitarists. I think this is very individual but for me it feels very comfortable.

@@goransollscher1730 I'm glad to hear from you, maestro. I notice in your playing the repetitive use of the same finger on your right hand, such as the ring finger, etc. This seems unorthodox to me. I am wrong?

@@alexandregismonti I think like this : for ex a pianist often repeats a note using the same finger so why shouldn’t we do the same if it sounds good and feels comfortable.

2-6 Savarez Alliance hard tension and first string Oasis Claro(nylon) hard tension.

@@goransollscher1730 ahhhh now that is interesting, i use savarez alliance arj (med/high) and always find the top e string a bit metallic. I’ll try to find the oasis Claro in my country! Thank you!

演奏場所が少し変わりましたね。気迫ある演奏に満足しています。低音部はスラーを敢えて採用れなかったのですね。力強いです。テンポ感が見事です古典なのでロックのテンポは似合いません。程よいテンポです。最良の魔笛。👍🙏😊
