A club like the Peerless is one of best training aids to use because it will reveal all your swing faults so obviously you will be able to realize you have them and what is causing them. +++ Hogan in Five Lessons suggests a drill I did with an circa 1970s blade 7 iron to fix my swing faults. Start by only using 1/4 swings outside the hands from the point just before the club force tries to swing the club head mass up forcing wrists to cock then after impact hold the finish position with club force pulling trail arm and club out horizontal. +++ Only after you manage to hit straight shots with those 1/4 swings do you gradually increase the swing arc. By doing that drill I realizes I was pronating and swinging the club too far inside in the takeaway and turning my shoulders around too much which didn’t allow the club force to pull the trail arm and club out to the target in the finish. I also realized as I swung the club further to 1/2, 3/4 and full my posture was letting the club force pull me on my toes tilting the swing plane and causing an outside-in path. +++ That blade iron punished me for all of those faults a “game improvement” iron would have masked by having a bigger sweet spot and less of a tendency to deflect when hitting the ball outside of that club’s sweet spot which was about the size of a pencil eraser.

At one time a 3 year old club had very little value but now it's hard to fine a bargain . The Ping Raptor is a club that cost almost as much has they did new.in 2006 . Why this is I don't have a clue . A G 5 Ping came out around the same time but doesn't have the same value.I did try them new but they felt like and look like a shovel.
