I feel bad, I'm panicking about my homework and some people are worrying about their whole lives and their homes and family and friends. Hurricane Irma may have not directly impacted me, but it for sure brought me back to earth.

i am so glad you are safe. last night for us was absolute hell, even just being in Central Florida. Our window actually busted open while we were sitting in the hallway due to 110mph winds. Our shed was in ruins, we had to dismantle it during the day since it was all across our yard but had to unscrew the final pieces. as well as a knocked down fence and flooding. I am lucky I have it better than others.

Scariest night of my life. I live in Orlando and we got hit really hard. This was the second hurricane that I was old enough to remember and it was terrifying. The entire time it sounded like a train was going over our house. I was at my grandparent's house and the power line caught on fire and exploded. I couldn't even sleep because I was afraid a tree would fall on the house or that the roof would be blown away. People like to say Floridians are used to hurricanes but they are seriously dangerous.

My friends live west of Orlando and they don't have any power and some cellphone towers got knocked down but I spent all day worrying if they were okay and finally they were able to get some power to text me back that they were safe and everything was okay for the most part

Hi just watched your video and I'm so glad your area looks refurbishable, if that's a word! What I want to mention tho, and I am absolutley no expert in the least- but, a suggestion to you from Brooklyn, NY living along the Atlantic, next stop Staten Island!- is that you might need to really look at your carpet, beneath it, (it looks like carpet you have down) and even beneath a tile or three to really be sure the water did not get into and stay for a bit in your house. I notice that door was tough to close, this may not be a broken door but a door that got sort of water logged. I am not a builder or anything like that at all. The experience I have is of friends after Hurricane Sandy up here in NYC. They first rejoiced that their home was spared but as time goes on the mold etc. So, as a total non expert I just want you to be aware of that possibility if it exists, and maybe to find out if you need to take up the carpet for ex. to truly let your place dry out as much as possible. It doesn't look it right now to you because of the surge that didn't come as forecast- THANK GOODNESS! - but that still is a lot of water and hope you make out just fine after this extremely difficult time in Florida. Hope my post here is not too wordy but will leave it just as it is in case it matters. Ok all the best!

I still have no power and I'm towards the east coast of Florida in Boca. I heard the west coast, the keys, and miami got rekt. But the Caribbean got completely destroyed, especially the BVI and USVI as well as Barbuda. No news coverage on those places. Sad.
