As an SC2/WC3 player, seeing Lucifron give the game a shot is super cool. Amazing Orc and Terran player. As an AoM player, hearing you say "A player by the name of TheMista", is super surreal, since he such a legend in the AoM community.

Deathlongball is not countered by light cav. +1 men at arms or even dropping extra archery ranges would've worked better. England players seem to forget archery ranges exist till they need crossbows.

Yeah light cav is honestly only good at raiding, they do not survive well against 100% accuracy, shoot through themselves, stutter stepping OPness that is ranged units. Men at arms would have been the call.

yeah, maa demolish longbows. take a look at HRE maa age 2 rush, archers deal shit vs them but crossbows counters them very well

@@barsni4779 still, archers deal like 1 damage to maa if both are on equal tech (same blacksmith and barracks/range age upgrades, no civ bonuses like prelates buff)

@@davidpereira5969 MAA 3+1 armour to longbow 6 attack. Can and will be kited to the end of the world if rush blindly. Better suited either as a living shield to your own bows or when you can force a battle.

Yeah. Havent played AoE for probably 18 years, but after few lost games when i was clueless, i was able to get winning streak only because i can micro and macro as i would in SC2.

@@VRGamercz Well I came from company of heroes 2 and the micro sure does gave me a huge advantage. Right after the tutorial about how to manage the economy and looking up a build with the Rus. I was yoinking deer left and right and had a great winrate in 2vs2.

@@minecraft3114 I'm not exactly able to play on the same level as they are in video but I can do it decently well. Just need to fast age, pump out longbows constantly, and keep most of your resource production on food and wood. Get blacksmith tech for rams and you are golden, as long as you have a good bow mass. Since I tend to lapse a bit on macro late-game, rush strategies tend to be my perfered tactic. Check out Drongo's video on the longbow rush.

How about using your extra eco to go to Castle and build some mangonels, would it work? This, coupled with defensive towers and some man at arms could do decently I think.

Going to castle age while being raided might be a bad call. Especially that enemy in that situation will make rams and deal with early towers. But MAA are best call against longbows.

Chould he not have build a tower outside the landmark? 1 for pre defence and if was suprised drop 1 while the archers was moving around. Its easy to build 1 fast with like 5 workers. The longbow cost like 50 Wood and other stuff. I mean with extra Villager it should be easy to spam out some towers, have like 1 archer or worker in every tower. Have 1 Baracks or 2 for the rams push in

I wonder if he could have held until maybe teching into Castle Age and knights. Men at arms also hold well vs archers but against that amount you need quite a few haha

England has access to early men at arms, those are great against archers with +1 defence. Or just drop more archery ranges then your opponent.

By researching textile to allow his vill to kill the ram without being shredded to pieces and make a second stable to make more light cav instead of wasting money on longbow who are getting picked off.

man at arms with ranged armor upgrade. Archers get countered by heavy units with high ranged armor, and in order to counter the man at arms oponent whould need crossbows

What was Lucifron doing with all his food and wood? He made like 6 horsemen in 5 minutes, could have made2 extra stables and pumped out like 30 horsemen easily.

I feel like longbowmen needs to be a bit more expensive.. its only been 3 days, but the defensive and offensive power in early game with a longbowmen stack is just so strong currently. In my opinion, I would rather deal with expensive early knights. ^^

There is always the same mistake i can see in "pro gamer games"! if Kasva had a Scout at the front, he could have seen where to snipe villiagers next... Scouts are inexpensive and provide huge amount of vision..
