This observer UI definitely need for population and vils count next to resources, I wanted to see how ovoo boosted TC helped Vipers vil count comparing to David in the early game

Same, I've been trying it and it feels like there's a small window early in feudal but if the trade gets going it quickly falls behind.

I agree. The Starcraft 2 replays are phenomenal. You know exactly what's going on down to the upgrades. I wish they would just straight up copy it. Really enjoying the game though so far.

You can tell a trader where to return to, so you dont need to destroy the dock.

Hi Drongo! I wanted to tell you something. First: Your commentary is extremely good. If there were a million people in the world doing the commentary on this, you would be in the top five - like a million dollar salary level. Seriously. I think I have a good ear when it comes to people speaking or performing, and this is top notch level. BUT, secondly. The headlines you put on these AoEIV videos are sometimes quite bad, simply because they often spoil the "plot" of the video. Your videos are highly entertaining - and the way you speak well, naturally, and vividly yet clearly is brilliant - I think I have watched a dozen of these, but the titles sometimes make me less eager to watch the video, because of how they imply who gets the upper hand. I think you could increase your views by quite a lot by using titles that don't give away the "twist", the golden egg, of the plot. And each video is so good that I do indeed regard them as stories, hence the world "plot".

To me, the headlines are appealing, and kinda 'entice' you to click the video. But in the end, if you're 'testing' different headlines, the analytics will tell you which have the best response.

No one enjoying his vids will stop clicking them because of the click-bait, but it'll bring more views in. That's just the way things go, sadly. Also, Drongo's title at least half of the time imply the one losing to be winning, so you never actually know. That's his way of avoiding spoiling the outcome.

Plenty of warning that archers + rams were coming, he didn't really react. Viper had stronger eco since feudal but there were options

I have not played AOE in years and don't currently play, but Aussie Drongo makes the games so enjoyable to watch even for people like me who have basically no knowledge of current day AOE.

I have trouble "hotkeying" bases with docks. How do you guys go about it? Home base: 4, military buildings: '5'. The dock should naturally be '5' for me but it's so ingrained into my cortex at this point that '5' has to be military buildings.

Hey Aussie, dumb question. How did you get your graphics to be so good? I’ve got everything set to max (AMD 5900x, 2080 super) and it still looks really mediocre. Like even with shadows set to high there aren’t shadows on the units. It feels like my graphics settings aren’t actually changing anything. I’m curious what you did to get the great looking graphics

My rig isn't as good as yours, but still very decent. I also got everything maxed, I checked all the dropdowns in the graphics settings. And the weed from the farms still look like AA isn't applied to it. But there's a catch. Compressed videos may 'smooth' such details.

Ranked ladder is not implemented yet, but there is an ELO rating and skill based matchmaking set up. I'm sure it's there just so new or less experienced players don't get matched with more experienced players. The website has a publicly available leaderboard if you want to check it up

Thats nuts that the YAM network lets inf catch cav lmao. I also think Mangudai are a little overrated. Cool unit but Ive yet to find a valid purpose other than hit and run raids. They dont trade efficiently with archers for the price. You dont need many to 1 shot a villager but they cant tank many hits themselves.

They are good against knights (solo) when you do some numbers. also they can be greate nuisance. You hit and run and opponent doesnt want to leave base. It's pretty important when you can't make any walls

@@LordTameo Do they have armor piercing built in or is it a smith/ovoo upgrade? In my experience they dont hit armored targets very hard and require an unrealistic amount of API. Also you cant build siege with them iirc so wouldnt it just be more effective to just boom an inf rush with rams?

@@TakedownO44 i don't really remember their stats right now. And to answer you what is more efficient: it depends. With Mongols it's standard for me to make good trade which gives me a ton of gold. Mangudai is food+gold and it's cheaper for me then archers food+wood. For Mongols 2nd TC is really expensive and I don't do it, so the vill number really doesn't allow me to make as much wood. You can make double the vills with ovoo, but the stone isn't always in efficient place to make TC there. Archers in this game are like skirms in aoe2. They can counter other archers. When my opponent go massive archers I usually don't use mangudai. In castle age I usually use mangudai + MAA and siege.

Mangudai are meant to be paired with horseman much like archers are meant to be paired with spearman. The mangudai snipe the enemy spearman while your horseman crush the archer counter. Battles come down to who micros better or has more. If the enemy is still massing archers you make mangonel.

@@LordTameo You mean when they kite the knights? Otherwise three mangudai vs two knights don't stand a chance. 4 damage each every 1.25 seconds vs 19 damage each every 1.38 seconds (+10 each per charge). A combined 255 hp vs 380 hp. Never let the knights connect!
