Same here, I had a blast playing some online games. Not everything was perfect, but I honestly think they've done a really god job.

This game is amazing the quality of the game is the best I’ve ever seen just sad that the beta is over and now I have to wait till September 4

You can highroll an einherjar as forseti because you a Loki, a single one is enough for the attack boost and you don't have to give up the hersir upgrade. He is incredibly slow, even slower than the troll and he is not a ranged unit. Spawning him already in place is considerably more preferrable than draggin over from your base.

the forseti version is the most consistent. with the heimdall version you are kinda forced to all in very early to get an advantage. forseti on the other hand can just raid and harass with hall of thanes MS bonus until you hit your FM timing and mass BB and overwhelm them.

They're a *lot* stronger in Retold. They were already really scary in the hands of an experienced player but with the additional flexibility in Retold they're a bit of a nightmare at the moment. I'd hazard to say they're currently the strongest Civ.

Never had that issue myself and iv played every version of aoe2

@@biz09ification that's crazy, do you follow the competitive scene? All the big names have called it out. If I don't babysit my villagers it will happen basically every match. (I only play DE)

@potforgot not as much as I would like to iv been too busy lately to play much or keep up with competative players. Im always on top of my eco though especially wood and gold, with a big emphasis on wood if I'm playing a naval map. Food takes care of its self after the early game really. I try to only pick fights I can win with military and really only do riskier plays with fast units. Wood always requires attention though, I tend to build a lot of gather points for wood. Are the vills getting stuck behind trees? I play vanilla could be a small trees problem or something?

In the accessibility settings there should be an option to turn it off.

We'll see how they balance the rush civs after this 'cause, yeh, fast age ups seem to be pretty dominant in the games current state.

to be fair that is practically all Age games. The only difference here is the abilities come a little quicker

loki has always been about this early game rush. so he was always about early timing attack. He has to win off his timing attack because all other faction have WAY stronger late games. Earthquake? your lose Metoer? You lose. Tatatiu gate? You likely lose. Flood(Chinese). You lose no one is surviving even a single one of these spells with norse. flame weapons into early rush is loki's only win condition. the other factions can trade their powerful nukes and maybe recover or go equal but not the norse.

I love how it looks. I was afraid it'll look way too modern and different and it actually looks VERY similar to the original, which is great.

That’s impossible to tell until after the first competitive tournament and seeing how much attention it gets. AoE2 and 4 have both been getting worked on. This will also have its own separate support.

I don't think AOM will be as popular as AOE2: DE, but it should still have a decent competitive scene. AOE4 never really took off at all and I don't expect that it ever will.

@@josephr4761 doesn’t make any sense to me. Aoe4 is much better. To watch or to play. I know it’s my opinion but doesn’t make sense why it’s not

@@Fantasygod19999 Power of nostalgia and the fact that AOE2 is arguably one of the best RTS ever. Even AOE2 HD Edition was constantly in the top 100 most played games on steam before DE was released. The AOE2 competitive scene never really died even when it had been more than a decade since it had any new content. Even now nearly 5 years after release, DE is still hanging around the top 50 most played games. I didn't buy AOE4, because I was still playing AOE2 DE and AOE4 didn't look as good when I watched show matches. I doubt that AOM will see the success of AOE2 DE, but very few games are ever THAT successful. I still think AOM will out perform AOE4.

it will most likely be a 1 for 1 in gameplay ,the problem is the voice acting which they butchered imo . at least for arkantos

First 5 missions were playable. They made some adjustments such as no TC in the first mission but everything is in tact

@@LunaPPK I'm hoping they have an option for classic VA. The new VA is so bad. It sounds like they got random interns to fake Greek accents and read lines from a sheet of paper. The old VA had so much more emotion. Also Arkantos is supposed to be 44, but he looks 19 in his character portrait. They could at least give him a few grey hairs.

I think the grafics are good enough. You forget, many people that want to play this game dont have the best PC and i think if you would make the grafics better it would loose its old Charm. And it is by no means a Bad grafic

Are you blind? The graphics are amazing! Who wants a gross realistic art style in their fantasy games anyways? Plus I don't want to have to have a 4000$ gaming PC just to play a simple rts.
