Undead cats are absolutely terrifying. They constantly howl to be fed, yet no matter what you do they are never sated because they can never eat. Horrifying

I think the devs would do well to make a few cosmetic changes to the game, mainly to make the underground look as visually interesting as the surface. As it stands now, it just looks a lot more dull imo. I understand it's supposed to be dank caves and such, but I feel like it turns it into a secondary location. It doesn't have to be bright and lush, but it bothers me that there isn't more to look at. I don't know if certain races can see better down there, but that could be a neat idea also.

This one speaks TRUE! I'd also love an in-game option to chose which minor unit enhancements have a visual effect. Kinda ruins my immersion when my angels go a deep shade of green or blue

It's also weird how dull the underground looks but it's so intense for the graphics card. Must be all the lava.

Yeah, i think the underground is a bit underwhelming in general honestly. It's ok to plop some vassal cities and outposts down there I guess, but there isn't really enough nodes or unique benefits to justify building a city there with all the expansion blocking bedrock, lake and lava provinces that cap your pop at like 10 provinces. It also doesn't connect up very well - I'm not sure if that's by design or not (maybe playtesters found armies bubbling up from the underground to appear in the middle of their throne city annoying?), but it means each underground passage tends to end up as its own isolated zone rather than a true secondary map layer that can allow you to interact with other empires. Plus, it often just isn't worth trying to explore it to look for other empires, since 9/10, you'll waste 10 turns embarking onto small rivers and digging excavating walls, only to realise the passage you entered from doesn't connect up with the city you wanted to invade.

@@Pixie1001. Yeah, this is one of the few things that turns me off about the game. It strikes me that playing an underground game just won't be as fun, and that shouldn't be the case. The game should be designed so the underground looks and feels super interesting and overpowered if you are playing an underground build.

One huge tip for playing necro that most people dont realise is that the Lost Tomb (or whichever Ancient Wonder that offers Lost Souls through RoL) generates a soul per turn (plus 2 mana & 2 knowledge) for each hero in the crypt. I was getting 50+ a turn by late game ^^

24:30 potato annexes the Lost Queen's Crypt, which adds the Corrupt Soul to RoL plus soul, mana, and knowledge income for heroes in the crypt

I do quite enjoy videos like this. Personally, I find it more engaging to watch a player who can explain their thought process in playing a game in a way I can reasonably follow even if I don't play the game myself. It's just not as fun watching someone who's trying too hard to be "entertaining", engaging more in zany antics than actually playing the game or (seemingly) having absolutely no idea what they're doing and so either just doing things at random or jumping to wild assumptions about the game which they're wrong about, the viewers can see how and why they're wrong, and the entire video is spent with the player having no idea why they aren't effortlessly succeeding or why what they're doing isn't working the way they want it to. Bonus points if they skip a tutorial because "they don't need it" and then complain that the game never told them important information.

Loving this series. It's funny, I'm actually in the process of playing a Dark Necromancer game myself. It's the Lich King vs Sylvanas, Thrall, Anduin, Tyrande, Magni, and Lor'themar. It's a battle for Azeroth in AoW4. :)

So fun fact about razing cities. When I played a dark culture, I was just running around burning the ai to the ground for funzies and souls (to fuel my reaper even harder). Turns out if there isn’t any other enemy units nearby, your units only need to be there to initiate the raizing. They can actually leave after you confirm you want to burn the city down and support the rest of your army in future battles assuming your stack doesn’t have any other buisness there. Of course you need to ensure the ai isn’t going to swoop in and save the burning city, but if you are burning a free city than you can definately just let it burn.

You don’t need a unit to raize the province, though the ai can cancel the action if you leave it empty and it has units nearby

30:00, you don't need to keep a unit there for razing or vassalizing a city. Only reason to keep one army there is to prevent another AI from capturing it while you raze/vassalize.

As far as I'm aware, no. When an Ancient Wonder is cleared, the player that cleared it has a soft claim on the province that only another player can usurp

1:30 lolwut you need to build the Wizard Tower for the Imperium income. At least 1 or maybe 2 levels. That is way more important than a lot of the buildings you built.
