How about showing them the communities up close rather than mythologizing them as bad? "Yo, crazy TJ bruh" and secondary lukewarm harm reduction, mmmkay. As a Mexican, I wish someone had the balls to show an American audience an interview with a mortician who is analyzing the wounds on an entire family, children included who were erased as part of the process in delivering you your delicious weekend high. Or a marine among his charred homies telling you how corruption directly mixes in with the scene, financed by your chemical aid that makes house music bearable for a couple hours. You people have done it to Apple, to Nestlé, to countless unethical businesses that sell commodities you can afford to go without, or seek alternatives for, in protest. But if it's a line at the club at the expense of a few brown people to torture? Eh, give me my line. Is it too much to ask for a serious angle to this conversation?

Jeff, please be careful. The cartels famously target journalists that report on them in a negative light or threaten their business. This video was very noble but very dangerous. They noticed your cameras, spyglasses, and questions. It’s very lucky they believed you were a tourist and didn’t think you were DEA or another threat. Now the video is out they know you were doing investigative journalism that could cost them money. Please be safe.

The cartels (you people forget there's several) don't care about edgy Americans making videos selling fear and stereotypes. Also not every single dealer is employed by "the cartel" like Jeff or every American believes. They only care about internet stuff when it's directly propaganda against them that they (and the people around them - public opinion) can understand. Such as when some edgy Mexican musician makes songs against some organization, and they threaten to shut them up. They usually follow through with their promises.

My dad did his time in prison and was just set free back to mexico after years locked up for working for one of the biggest mexican cartels and our family went through hell weve never been the same ever since. People make horrible decisions in hard times and my dad worked for 25 years here in america with a honest job but when someone offers you a way out where you think itll have your family set and no longer struggle with having food on the table for all of his 5 kids I can understand his choice. This was terrifying to watch I stay away from any cartel or druglord content/ shows/ movies everyone likes to glorify that but its heartbreaking for my family my dad cant ever come back home to the states but yet here I am also understanding how heartbreaking it is for the families of those who have passed away being laced with fentynal. Anyways just venting please be careful Jeff for the sake of your safety and the crews.

I had a family member die from an overdose and what you said is so true. addiction isn’t a necessarily an option; you’re a victim to it. You’re doing great things ❤️
