Except KZfaq was sued for not restricting historically accurate videos about ISIS. Yes, you can cross the same lines talking about an army that exclusively fought for slavery and the continued oppression of a population.

It’s very unfortunate that pretty much any photo or video depicting death is age restricted. The history of war cannot be taught without death being included.

Exactly! I heard some of the preppy kids once complaining because they didn't get a trigger warning before hearing about the Hôlõcåúst... It wasn't even going extremely into detail and they weren't seeing images. It was mostly focused on world powers and the overall conflict during ww2... Like what are you gonna do? Not learn about these important events 🤦‍♀️🙄 This was AP and IB history as well, meaning very advanced highschool students.

Ridiculous indeed! Those photos might upset anyone of any age, but that's no reason to lock them away. Years ago I bought a book called The American Heritage Picture History of the Civil War. It is a large book, and I am sure it contains all of the pictures KZfaq thinks are inappropriate for children. When my son was in 5th grade he loved that book. He took it to school and all his friends loved it too! His teacher asked me if the book could stay in the classroom for a while. She later told me that during quiet study time in her class she would always find one of the boys over in the corner quietly paging through that book. I can't think it did them any harm. In fact, I think it was a wonderful introduction to an important event in our history! People are oversensitive these days. BTW, I watched the video you mentioned today. I will immediately give it a Line and an approving comment! BTW, my great-great grandfather fought in the Wheatfield -- 64th NY.

That explains something I saw recently. History Hit posted a video series about the Russian front during WWII. Footage showing battle casualties that’s been shown on TV for the last 50 years was censored with portions being ghosted out. It annoyed me to the point that I stopped watching. It’s not about KZfaq being strict, it’s about them being stupid. I’m watching right now and already gave it a thumbs up.

Dude I watched a political video recently titled XXX committing political suicide? Or something to that notion and KZfaq wouldn’t let me watch it because it had the work suicide in the title. I’m of age; the video legit had nothing to do with suicide it was literally about politics and I’ve seen actual videos about suicide not get that restriction. It’s stupid.

Lmao remindes me of my history teacher i had last school year. I don't know who was in charge of the notes he gave us but he said he wasn't allowed to share some older ones because they weren't worded properly and had slures... Im still tryna figure out tf was going on with that. He also told us his life story the last 2 days of school and it was hilarious. On the day of our AP exam he cooked us blueberry strucil and stood on his desk yelling so the walls were vibrating, giving us a pep talk and letting us curse to the top of our lungs, chanting like we were going into war. Hated his work but love him, definitely gonna visit ❤️ I know this isnt exactly related but i just thought of it and really wanted to share bc of how uncensored he became during our history lessons. Not in a bad way ofc. He was very nice and respectful, aside from the yelling 😂

Our society is super messed up at this point.

I went to Gettysburg when I was 8 and fell in love with the Civil War, so year it frustrates me when we can’t educate kids on this stuff because it happened. Instead you see kids playing on the cannons and memorials and wondering where they probably shouldn’t much to my great annoyance (yes I saw this in Gettysburg yesterday; I saw it at the anniversary of the Alamo too this year. Yes I saw someone trying to touch and play with this beautiful quilt at First Ladies national historical site. Yes I saw kid’s skateboarding on and being inconsiderate at William McKinley’s memorial/grave.) We should be educating kids about history. What happened in these hollowed places and why we need to respect them and maybe things will change. But KZfaq prefers to censor everything so…boo…

My gg grandfather a member of the 16 ga infantry was somehow shot in the thigh on the 2nd at the Wheatfield or nearby! He languished til July 20 when he was turned over to the union army provost marshal and had his leg ampulated but it was too late he died of probably gangrene and infection! He was returned to ga (savannah) in the early 1870s! I understand the 16th was not engaged that day but held in reserve! Was it a stray bullet, or what, I'll probably never know!
