One of the things I like about this camper is that he doesn't use live trees, he only really uses dead trees.. he knows how to appreciate the nature nice vlog again man keep safe...

Well yes. Building bushcraft shelters with deadwood is really just a process of "borrowing biomass" and moving it from one place to another during its journey being cycled back into the system. There is minimum impact to the ecosystem or the ecological process of forest growth and succession. Even with the sometimes jarring transplantation of thick moss from boulders to shelter rooftops, the likely result is just spreading of the moss, especially in the more humid climates. I am uncertain of regulations in Nordic countries or in Canada, but in the US cutting live vegetation of any kind is strictly prohibited on public lands without a specific permit. The same goes for any gathering of forest products (berries, wintergreen, etc.) beyond incidental levels for personal use.

My kitty b- lines over to me as I turn on my heater and lay down in bed to watch your videos. She seems to know from the sounds of your feet in the snow, and all the chop chop preparations to build your own sleeping place. She grooms herself,makes circles a few times, then settles down and curls up on me to go to sleep. On the best days, she lets out a little sigh. Lovely times. Thank you for sharing with us.😊😹

Thank you for bringing such positive creativity and spirit into this video. Remember ancient civilizations they just set there and rubble and ruin... A lot of times people don't even recognize what structures look like when they sit there and rubble and ruin.... But that's okay 👍 You spent 27 years out in the field you'll start finding all kinds of ruins you don't want to dig on cuz usually never find anything in them very often because all organic matter gets crushed and a lot of things biodegrade.. I'm just happy you're getting some field experience

Like your videos dude! Your wilderness reminds me a lot of my Alaskan wilderness. I got a small tip for ya that I learned from a native buddy here. While building up your fire, take your thumbs and pointer fingers and create a small diamond. Blow air through the diamond to concentrate it more precisely and with more air pressure. Handy trick, no pun intended.

Out of curiosity, why do you elevate your fires on rocks instead of digging a pit and surrounding it with stones to keep flying embers away? Aren't you afraid the wind will blow and your shelter could burn down?
@AgeofTheNorth
@AgeofTheNorth Жыл бұрын
It's to protect the earth. I don't want to be burning holes in the moss and earth everywhere I camp :) This also makes the fire get more air and there is no humidity from the ground.
