One time I saw two cars running a red light as I approached the intersection on the cross street. They were going in opposite directions but one of the cars tried to make a left turn. Head-on accident. Man, the look on the drivers face who made the left turn as I drove by. It would have made a good poster. Too bad cellphones didn't exist I would have taken his picture.

The police don't care.

I usually am a front seat passenger, and see so many expired temp tags every day. Many expired months ago. I saw one last week that expired last February. Some tags aren't even legible they are so tattered and faded. A few years ago, my daughter was stopped and given a warning. Her year tag on her plate was expired the previous month, but she had the new one in the car; she just hadn't put it on. So how do all these temporary plates get away with it??

Colorado's not unique because there are terrible drivers no matter where you are. I've driven in numerous eastern states from Maine to Florida and the common theme is that people drive like they're the only ones on the road, driving way above the posted speeds, way below them, not using turn signals, stopping in the middle of the road because they're not sure which way to turn, viewing and talking on the cell phones, just to name a few examples. I've gotten to the point where I minimize my time on the road by making numerous stops, errands, etc. in one trip. Even at that, I ALWAYS encounter an idiot at LEAST once every time I drive.

In European countries you need to get training before applying for a driver's license. In the US the only incentive for training is a slightly lower rate for insurance which doesn't compensate for the price of professional instruction.

They can't keep up. They are still finishing projects that are adding lanes that were started years ago. And construction closes existing lanes. Plus it costs $$.

There were bad drivers LONG before Polis was in office. Cali people? Showing your bias. How can you tell where people are from, when they have CO plates? I don't think a ton of Californians drive pickups. Most of the aggressive drivers who tailgate and pass dangerously drive extended cab pickups in my experience. They love to run lights and speed, too. Many have out of state plates, like TX, OK and KS.

@@juliebofco9347 because I drove between Colorado and cali for 25 years almost every week. Only in calif did I have roads rage so bad that I had to quit. Like my wife said you are going to kill someone and I said and it will be in cali and a whole bunch of them. You can always tell a cali driver. They are the me first people.

Or drive self-driving cars. Maybe take mass transit. The roads are too crowded, and running late for work and appointments is frustrating and stress-inducing.

Unfortunately American cops are bad drivers too. The reason no one gets ticketed for poor driving is because the cops think it's normal.

Amen!!!! I agree. I am sick of the road rage victims that brake check me, throw things at me, side swipe me, refuse to get over or out of the left lane, refuse to make a legal right on red, etc. The police refuse to help. License plate number means nothing because my insurance tried and couldn't get the other driver to respond so I got stuck with the deductible and ding to my insurance rates. So now I use my BUMPer as it the name implies. I bump! HARD!! And guess what? No consequences. 38000 cases reported with 100 cases charged? LMAO that means it is open season folks. My bumpers are ruined. So I intend to bump my way through this world now. Sue me!! I ain't got a pot to pee in.
