Himachal Pradesh is amazingly very beautiful and full of surprises. In Dharamshala there is a beautiful village called Khaniyara where this ancient temple named Aghanjar Mahadev is located where Lord Shiva gave Pashupati Astra to Arjuna after he worshipped Lord Shiva for years.
There is a historical religious place of Lord Shiva in the village of Khaniyara is about 10 km from Dharamsala in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, which is called the land of Gods. Surrounded by mountains and lush green forests. Aghanjar Mahadev temple history is associated with Baba Ganga Bharti, Maharaja Ranjit Singh and Arjuna. Aghanjar means the destruction of evil. It is believed about the Aghanjar Mahadev temple that the Pandavas came here during their exile period. During this, Arjuna worshipped Lord Shiva here and received a weapon called "Aghanjar" from him.

This religious place is just few km away from Dharamsala. Taxis or other vehicles are available from Dharamsala to reach Aghanjar Mahadev Temple. Apart from Delhi, there are also regular bus services from Chandigarh, Shimla and other major cities around. The nearest airport is Kangra Airport. Which is about 16 km away.
