We start our GMT Games Agincourt (Men of Iron) board wargame Playthrough (Let's Play, AAR, game session) with an overview of the history of the battle of Agincourt and a tutorial (how to play) on the key mechanics.
Men of Iron Agincourt Let's Play is our third wargame (historical game) AAR / game session. We'll play through the game for both sides. Can the French rewrite history, or will the English prevail yet again?

thank you, good video, but I recommend you to put background music more "calm".... its a bit annoyng and it jams the communitcation

Amazing video introduction! I loved the background information for this most important battle in our history, and the choice of overlay illustrations - so good! As for the game, the unit counters are just great, lovely artwork. So, I'm looking forward to every move of this series as it's one of my favourite periods in history and I just know it'll benefit from the Zilla Blitz treatment. Way to go! :)

Thanks, Peter! This scenario came from a magazine issue, so it's got larger counters, really striking. I mean, all the counters are strong, but when they are LARGER, they are even more striking. :)

Awesome! Been waiting for this one. I've already watched a playthrough of this particular scenario a few months ago, but your video format and overall commentary is so enjoyable I wouldn't mind seeing the French struggle once more (but hey, they might just pull of a victory and prove me wrong). Can't wait for Episode 1! 😃

Thanks, Hex! I have an idea for the French so we'll see what happens. I tried a flanking move with them last time, but the English were able to stuff that in its tracks. I'm not confident in this idea, but we'll give it a shot. :)

It'll be a challenging scenario for the French. I've got an idea, but I can see quite a few ways that it goes horribly wrong. :)

They should have made the French chits on white backgrounds for more historical accuracy in this battle. :-)

Ha! Good point, yes. :) The blue and red are quite striking though. I really like the visual appeal of the game on the whole. :)

My last boss was English, and like Jeremy Clarkson, he would always bring up Agincourt any time he wanted to demonstrate some superiority over the French. :) I'm having trouble with the map's directions. It looks like the legend is printed so that North would be *down*? Isn't that a sort of torture? Also, the table looks good! :)

It was a remarkable battle in so many ways, for sure! I'm not sure if we have something like this in the US? Battle of the Bulge? The Alamo (but we lost)? Midway? North is to the left side, so the bottom of the map is west. And the table is working out so well. Thanks again for all the help!

Oh, now I understand your legend question! This scenario was actually first published in a wargame magazine, after the series had been released, so the terrain/combat legend is on the map instead of on a separate player aid. I think it faces the way it does because it's assumed two players will be sitting alongside the long horizontal sides of the map. :)
