Girl, I hear you! I thought the days would drag by slowly since we aren’t so busy but it’s just the opposite. I feel like I went to sleep one night at 45 and woke up and found I was almost 70! For me, the worst is my double chin and hair loss. Fortunately, my teeth are pretty solid. I have two that I’m probably just going to get yanked. At my age, I’m not spending $2000 a tooth for crowns. I have zero plans to go into a nursing home. To borrow a saying from my sister, I will go mushroom hunting in winter before I waste away in a nursing home.

Thanks Lindy for the insights into aging. My parents made growing old look easy… they never complained, because dad said complaining just didn’t help. But unfortunately it didn’t prepare me for all the aches and pains, struggles and challenges of aging. You, on the other hand, gave reasonable insights without complaining. Thank you! 💖

I'm someone who is right there with you, if a few years behind, thank you for not sugar coating it. I find it so annoying when people make it sound like aging is a 100% wonderful thing. Yes I get it, you're better off than somebody that died when they were young, and there are certainly people who are presently worse off, that's no argument. And if you have lots of money it certainly is easier, but I don't have lots of money. The trick is not getting bitter over it, aging that is, which I am having some trouble with. I would say the main thing that keeps me from being totally cuckoo over aging is my sense of humor, which you pointed out. There's just nothing we can do about it so you might as well make fun of it. I do try to maintain myself, but not only am I going to be 69 years old, but I had Polio as a kid and post-polio syndrome has been kicking my ass for the last 25 years, and I have had one injury or illness or surgery after the other. Without going into too much detail, I had a very abusive childhood, at home and in school and it was very debilitating for years mentally because of it. I mean, when your nickname in school is "polio case" ( people can really suck sometimes) and you have the crap beaten out of you every day, it kind of messes you up for a while. So anyway, fast forward, and in my twenties and thirties I finally worked very hard to make myself a relatively attractive semi hunk, lol, and now that all that's being taken away and I look more like an old pelican that's been run over by a tractor trailer hahaha (see, you have to have humor......) and it is rather difficult. I would say the worst part of aging is when you start to age and start seeing The Tell-Tale signs and you feel like that guy in the movie The Fly, and you just look in the mirror and want to scream. It does get a little easier once you have finally accepted it and you're over the hump and you are truly a "senior citizen." But it is not easy. Anyway, you excellently expressed exactly how I feel about aging and how many others also feel, I'm sure. ❤️

I'm 71 and was a geriatric nurse for a long time. I learned all about what awaited me when I became old. I try to remember what George Burns used to say, that every day above ground is a good day. It's not easy, but the alternative doesn't attract me. Im traveling with my daughter and DIL for 4 years now in a 5th wheel. I love having a different view every couple of weeks, and im not sitting on a couch in a sticks and bricks waiting to die. I'm living my dream of seeing all 50 states before I'm gone, and my daughters are making this come true. Thank you for your making us laugh. I would much rather laugh about it than cry. Bless you.

Good morning, Lindy & Marley! I beat ya on cataract surgery. I was blind in my right eye for a year from it til I got on Medicare. 2022 in the fall is when I had them done. Great to be able to see! Haha. Around 55, I received a piece of mail that said dear senior citizen! 😂 I was pissed off! I wasn't a senior citizen! Haha. But, advantages are the discounts!😊 I had to have my hip replaced. Omg! I was in pain for awhile, a caregiver with a cane!😂 I was embarrassed! But, I did it. Now, I'm addressing my left ear hearing loss. With Medicare (yay!), I got a very thorough hearing test. It confirmed that I can't hear! Hearing aids--omg only old people wear those! I hope I can afford it. At the office they had a Lil man on a hearing aid on a dummy ear. I want something like that. I'm 66! Am I old? Yes! I SAY I'M OLD NOW. You can't hide age! We just bought a jeep gladiator truck. We're old. We're going up and down the Sacramento mountains yesterday and I played in snow. I lived in Florida. I never played in snow. Today we're going back up there because I have to make a snow angel and bringing a new gf to play in the snow with. Hubby likes the 4x4! It's his toy at 67! Hahaha. Cloudcroft is a lovely skiing town in the NM mountains. We live very close to it in the basin.

To be honest, I think I could deal with the aging process a whole lot better if younger adults would show a little bit of respect for elders. It’s hard enough without others adding more issues to our last years. Seems there is so little help for our elderly. Please keep being yourself. You are still beautiful Lindy. I am sorry that you have struggles but God will carry you through. I pray God will ease any challenges you face. Aging is also a gift from God. Yes there is many, many challenges but every breath is a gift from God. Romans 8 18 The temporary sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed in in us. 1st Corinthians 2 9 But as it is written eye hath not seen nor ear heard neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for those that love him. If we have been born again, one day we will get to be in heaven and there is no pain, no sorrow, no suffering, no sickness and no death there. We must endure to the end while we are here on earth but one day we will get to be with Jesus. I love you Jesus. I run my race to hug Jesus. God bless and keep you Lindy. I love you friend and i appreciate your content being christian friendly.

Great video! I do think a positive when ageing is we don't sweat the small stuff anymore. Or, to put it bluntly, I just don't care. It is very freeing to release these things. Also, way more appreciative of the "good" in life.😁

Ay Dios mío Lindy, so so true. So good to hear you speak of these things. I to have told my children and they'd not like to hear it. I've even done the Swedish death cleaning when moving out of my loghome in 2012 and 2018 when I bought my cargo van more so on road 2021. That helped my children tremendously. Gave to say nomad life is Freedom❤🇵🇷🌺🏝🌊

71 here, Lindy. Can relate to almost everything you said. The hardest thing for me is stamina, and losing friends and loved ones I have known all my life. Seems to be constant at this point.😢. I wouldn't be upset if I died next week. Still have to work and I am tired, and achey. However I do believe God has me here for a reason, and altho I would like to do a Thelma and Louise situation when I see the whitecoats coming ,my goal is to let Him call the shots when He wants me home. I think my job is to try and figure out how to serve and please Him with the time I have left with what I am able to do. Have a great day. Great video. Thanks.❤

Love you Lindy just so you know my career as a caregiver is what I feel puts me in to purchase property to provide safety friendships and a caregiver on board just in case. All free to a few nomad elderly ladies. Linda let's do this and get Bob's input. OK xoxo

I'm with you. Love the idea of caregiver for nomads. That way I don't lose my purpose and can be part of a community who needs us. Wonderful idea. Love hearing about how you feel about aging and how little time we all have.

Hi Lindy, I’m only 50 and some of this nonsense is already happening to me. I think having to shave less is awesome! Luckily the hair on my head hasn’t thinned out too badly. I take vitamins to help. My eyebrows have left me, but I have chin hairs sprouting almost every day! It’s horrific. I carry a tweezer in my purse, car and keep one by my bedside table. I don’t understand why I grow chin hairs but not eyebrows, lol. I can’t drive much at night because I can’t see 💩

Our sense of humor may be all we have, and of course our attitude is truly the only thing we have any control over! 😵‍💫🤭. I really appreciate you and your attitudes. I’m older than you, 81! and just can’t believe it! Truly! 🤦🏼‍♀️🙆🏼‍♀️ And have a hubby, he is the half empty and I’m the half full glass in life. It’s difficult trying to pull that person up and out to enjoy all that life has, even at this age BUT it won’t come to you!! Have tried to help him understand, each day, each minute that goes by, there is no do overs and it’s gone! Maybe I’ll get it figured out before Papa God says “It’s time to come home”. Proud of you Adventuresome Lindy for standing your ground and living life your way! Cheering you on Young Lady! 🎉🤭😁🥳💕🥰

Love this 😻 Better write my book before I forget. Hate the receding gums, the dentist and the hair loss. It could be a little more wonderful if society valued the "elders" instead of chasing youth with face and butt lifts ↑↑🤣 You are beautiful. And your obituary will be on legacy.🌟

Good laugh Lindy!! Also hearing goes 😂 . Maybe all those rock concerts I went to for years. I hate the word elderly!!!! When I read that about someone I shudder and think don’t ever call me elderly. At 72 coming this year I don’t feel elderly! My motto has always been …. Keep your sense of humour and don’t take yourself too seriously. Thanks for the chuckle that sadly I can relate to now. 🤪😂😘

Hi Lindy! I can relate to everything you’re talking about. We worked so hard all of our lives…and it’s a struggle if we age and are not well off. Like you, I have one son. He’s done well, and can’t understand why I am poor now. It’s a long story… we all have a story. Hang in there.

Lindy I try not to think about the future. Or I would be frustrated and I be depressed so none of that right now. I do have insurance but I just pay it and that’s it. I take care of my things pay bills and take care of my dog. I’m fine but things do happen. You’re doing well you are a positive lady so we just go on praying for you and your doggie you are a survivor. 🌸💕✨

I keep reminding myself that getting old is so much better than the alternative! My joy now is watching “nomad” videos and thinking what if. But I was born with children, I KNOW, that seems impossible, however I can’t remember a time without them. I am now raising my third generation. Soooo I thank you for your travels, your talks and just being.

Oh Lindy, for me it hit me when my sister died a few years ago. When my rock and roll favorites started getting old and dying. I’m an inch shorter and my feet are a size larger. I started”the conversation “ on my last visit with my son. At our age I believe we should live life to the fullest with the time we have left. You are a treasure. Glad you are sharing your time with us.

Thank you for being open and vulnerable regarding aging. I lost my mother a year ago and turned 43 last month. Im starting to look more and more like her every day (gray hairs, wrinkles, bad skin, double chin, fat sticking around). Im starting to realize I have less time left on this earth than Ive already had (that went by in a flash) and its honestly freaking me out. You are correct, aging is hard and not for sissys. I say this as a tear rolls down my face. I appreciate your video, thank you for making me feel less alone.
