She is so underrated. She's my favorite vocalist of all time, her voice is amazing and her control over it is magical. She writes songs that feel so sad and wonderful.. Her album Citizen of Glass is incredible. If it's raining outside, put on some Agnes Obel. Perfect fit. Check out her song Familiar, there's a live version on youtube from a large open studio. It's great.

You're not too far away with your analysis; in an interview Agnes was asked what this songs lyrics were about & she replied : "I wanted to write a song about how people can be transformed, and sometimes how when you meet other people who have been through this strange transformation, you can tell. It was a time in my life when I was changing a lot myself, and I wanted to describe that, using water as a border between one world and another."

Loved the harmonies as well as the solo vocals - such a gentle, rounded sound that wraps around you.

It is lovely. Between the simple, repetitive melody and Agnes' voice I found myself just closing my eyes and very peacefully listening to her sing. Very nice.

Agnes is fantastic. Great choice. I don't know a lot about her personally, but she's a fabulous singer and song writer.

I’m so pleased you have discovered Agnes Obel. There is something very magical about her sound which seems to belong to that transitional space between wakefulness and sleep.
