Others only sing Bach. Natalie inhabits Bach. She extracts every ounce of human experience from the composition and lyrics and then pours them into our hearts like honey.

Stutzmann is truly one of the ONLY contraltos I would want to hear singing this outside of the countertenors (such as Scholl). She is brilliant.

Very strong. She can do the countertenor stuff as well as Brahms Mahler and barock pyrotechnics! My favourite CD is currently Quella Fiamma who h is the Parisotti primer for voice but with proper orchestration

@foropera surement l'absence de vibrato... le son n'étant pas plein, les harmoniques sont un peu coupées et ça laisse cette impression de faux... enfin j'espère que c'est plutôt la vidéo, parce que c'est un peu dommage !

@thonycg93 , it is NOT truly alto - compare with, for example, recording of Kathleen Ferrier or Marion Anderson (the very first sound of this musical piece for real contralto is VERY HIGH (D), and it should be heard as HIGH note. But for mezzos - like Stutzman - it is not high note)... There are no real female altos on contemporary stage. Unfortunately.

Disagree. Mezzos have voices like Magrete Elkins Joyce DiDonato Lorraine Hunt Lieberson Cecilia Bartholi. Stutzmanns voice sits much lower than these as does Mingardo Lemieux Ewa Podles. Marion Anderson's voice was not as low as Ferrier either
