Story 2 would make a great TV series - the last humans fleeing the empire that destroyed Earth while being pirates to survive - certainly different from most sci fi settings where aliens are the ones to form pirate societies.

If I was Barbosa, I would have told those two "You know, we would not have been pirates if you didn't MAKE us pirates. You brought this on yourselves... Hmm... that last story was basically "aliens are Nazis and humans are Jews" ... in space! But it was quite well written and I liked it. (Just one of the many crimes committed by the Nazis was to force Jews to live in squalid conditions, then pretend that the squalid conditions were the fault of the Jews rather than being the fault of the Nazis forcing them into those conditions) May the algorithm be kind to you!
