Never flew Apaches only small Gazelles but you cant beat 'knap of the earth' flying between rows of trees and along rivers dodging radar its truly exhilerating! Landing in a confined clearing was interesting as well as dropping in it bend the trees OUT. Taking off......it sucks the trees in towards the rotors! Did some training sorties in a Chinook doing that im sure we trimmed a few saplings😎

Wow! But the forest is the helicopter's worst enemy! A rocket could shoot up behind every branch... even the thermal image does not bring much. See vietnam

Marvellous machine, this Apache. The only thing about it that I don`t like, is that the pilot cannot, as a fighter pilot does, fire the weapons himself. While I do understand that a sophisticated radar-guided weapon system like the Hellfire missile calls for an operator of its own, I think they should have left at least the chain gun`s control to the pilot.

The reason why the pilot cannot use the chaingun, is because the chaingun isnt fixed to a point. The chaingun can be individually moved to about a 100degrees left-right and 40ish downwards. You cant have the pilot control the helicopter and fire at the same time.

You can totally fire each weapon from the backseat in the 64.

You can shoot any weapon from the backseat and the Hellfire is laser guided.

you can of course fire the weapons from pilot seat as well (rear seat). chaingun is controlled with HMD (Helmet Mounted Display), so you only have to look at it
