And i was watching this video with so much of enthusiasm, eventhough i know the procedure and post op care of 1 -3 month pretty much clear and as a junior doctor We have been counseling the patients also. But while watching this video from a patient’s perspective with all their emotional rollercoaster , it seems wonderful and heart whelming. And the effort you put for study and research the whole procedure is amazing, and the way you are explaining to common people in simple terms , i felt like as i was attending a lecture regarding refractive surgeries. I couldn't control my tears watching this vlog. It took me back to a lot of memories which i had with my acha. My acha had cataract surgery last year Nov . Even though it's cataract surgery listening to your story i could connect a lot things when you said about the drops which you have to put daily for a month. Me and my mom was the one who took care of acha after the surgery, putting drops on time and so on . My dad used to say the same thing like you said in this vlog that he could see everything so clearly and could read even the small writings. He was so happy that he could see everything so clearly. Nearly close to a month after the surgery my dad passed away suddenly due to cardiac arrest . It's so hard for me to accept the fact he is no more bcoz one fine day he passed away . He was perfectly fine . So seeing this video of yours took me back to those good old days with my acha. I couldn't hold back my tears watching this video of yours.

Later in life he got married,had three beautiful girls ❤ but he never seen any of us 😔 in 2006 unfortunately he passed away with lungs cancer 😔 i am a medical professional now . There is new technology called orthoK lens for kids. Kids can wear a hard contact lens while they sleep and in the morning they can see perfectly. It will wear off by evening and have to wear every night. But it is the best . It’s a big relief for kids as they cannot do the surgery

I'm also a person with Myopia who is using specs from 10th std and I got my symptoms from 8th std and as Ahaana Chechi said at that time we never minded it. Hello Ahana, Good informational looong video. I went through the full video because I also have shortsight vision issue (-10 ,-11) and wearing specs from my plus one class. Lasik I tried but I was rejected for my high power. SMILE is new option I came to know from you. I will go through your inspirational video again when I plan to do the surgery Thank you.

See I hve done laser treatment 11 to 12 yrs back ..after that i had rare changes...like ..after 8 months my power again changed and I switched again in to spectacles and after 11 to 12 years from now my left eye developed "post laser ectasia"...I underwent "lasic laser"11 yrs back...I had allergy for dust and thus applied mechanical pressure to my eyes whn itching came on my eyes..and thus corneal curvature changes came..(hypothesis) and now i hve undergone cross linking of corneal fibers to tighten it and thus continuing with specs itself ...this is a rare case of "post laser ectasia " and keratoconus...so guys ....keep this in mind... otherwise laser is a great help

Trust Ahaana to give an interesting spin to an important life update like a laser surgery .. I can imagine the meticulous planning that would have gone into the making of this video. On an another note, the contact lens story had me in splits... 😂😂😂 This reminded me of my lens story that traces back to 2003. It was my second year of college and I was removing my lens in front of a mirror and I couldn't find the lens after removing it. I was heart broken as it took me a lot to convince my folks to get me one. My roommates joined me in the hunt for my lens all the way to college and back 😂😂😂 and I finally informed my mom that I had lost one of my lens. To my absolute surprise, she was understanding of my plight. But the next day when I woke up, I was magically able to read the calendar with the eye that I had lost my lens. I realised that the missing lens had folded itself in some crevice of my eye, and aligned to my cornea during my sleep REM... 😂😂😂😂i called mom to inform her that I found my lens in my eye and that's when I got an earful. She couldn't digest how I could lose something that was in my eye!!!! 😂😂😂 I continue using my lens till date and have never mustered the courage to try laser. My favorite moment was how Sindhu Aunty felt a pang of guilt for not having made a perfect daughter. Mothers are the best ❤❤❤❤ Thank you Ahaana for creating this near- perfect, informative and inspiring video mostly for the uninitiated . It was beautiful, more like poetry in action. ❤

I can relate this with my condition...I am also having less cornea thickness.. Kerataconus !! Thickness of cornea decreases...we cannot regain the thickness by C3R surgery, but can limit the thickness by preventing it to reduce again....if thickness decreases, it may even lead to blindness...I have done the surgery and it was successful.....and I was very happy.... But again when I was pregnant, Kerataconus again came to my life ... cornea thickness again got decreased.... Pregnancy can worse this condition... Now doctor again suggested to do C3R surgery !! I don't fear the surgery but I fear how will I handle my 1 year old baby during that situation...I am really tensed n sad.... Praying to God to do some miracle in my life😔

I have also been using specs since very young. And just like you I also have shortsight + astigmatism. My Dr did recommend about SMILE last year. I was thinking quite a while about this, this vlog was inspiring n has helped sorting my queries to a great extent.

I think this might be the only one video that I've watched without interrupting, not even movies. It was so relaxing for me to just get under my blankets and watch this beautiful and amazing documentary, even though i have no eye problems (touch wood🤞). Of course, you are blessed with a lovely family, especially your parents!! Hats off them !! First time dad accompanied with you for the tests and surgery, which was not done. But this time, Sindhu was there with you. Before going to the surgery, you asked, " are you upset?" At that time, the pain and tension were clearly seen on Sindhu's face. She is such a careful person either for her own parents and for her children. She is carefully handling each and everything for her family. She never forgets to do something for her parents, even there is no time. We could see many people give lacs of money to the temple, but do not take care of the parents. They do not get even proper care or love. Why do they not realize that parents are God. What's the use If we ignore our parents and go to the temple for God's darshan.
