Great lesson, Jen. I'll try to explain one of my real cases. About two years ago, I was walking on the sidewalk in a street, suddenly I tripped over something that I do not remember what it was, and I fell to the ground feeling great pain in my arm. No one was around except an elderly couple who ran over to help me get up. With great effort the woman helped me and the man excused himself saying that he could not because he had left the hospital yesterday for a recent operation. I went home and a terrible pain started in my arm. I decided to go to the hospital and after checking by x-ray they saw the radius bone of my forearm was broken, and they proceeded to cast my arm. It was bad news that I never expected. I had the cast for fifteen days and the pain was disappearing little by little 😧. Wishing you a good day.

Once my mother and I were sitting in our old car and I was driving on the road, I push the gas pedal to go up one bridge, and suddenly I realized that the gas pedal is not working. There was a problem with gas wire, the wire was ripped apart, so I found a rope and tied up the gas lever to some other point. We sit and I start the car, and thanks to my quick fixing, we continued to our destination, the lever was wide open and the car was making a lot of noise. After that I took the car to a mechanic and he fixed the gas problem in a systematic way.

Thanks for the extremely useful and interesting lesson, Jen. The definitions you give while explaining new words are clear and easy to memorize. I had to buy a new laptop too because of the same reason - I also spilt water on it. Yesterday I and my husband drove to another city and this trip cost us 2000 rubles and two hours of wasted time. As soon as we set off, one of the tires blew and we headed to the nearest service station. When we got there, the mechanic changed the wheel with a flat tire as well as all the rest wheels. So, we wasted two hours at the service station and paid 2000 rubles for 4 wheels.

Hi, Jen! I don't remember very well if I already had a single day with many problems, but I certainly did. I remember several days that I had some kind of problem. For example, when we rented our first home here in Canada, It was closed and without people inside when we arrived at the house. It was very cold and we didn't have the right clothes, so when we tried to open the door, we were very cold. After some time looking for a key to open the door or looking for someone inside the house, we realized that there was a box in front of the door with numbers on the front of the box. So, we deduced that the key was inside the box and we needed a code to open the box. We didn't have the code and we didn't have the owner's phone number, so we started wondering where we could find the code or where was the code? Well, we thought that the owner could have sent the code by email. So, we went to an internet cafeteria and opened the computer, and the email and the code were there. The owner sent the code via email. We went back to the house, now with the code, and we managed to open the box in front of the door with the code, and we took the key, and with the key, we managed to open the house. Now the history is funny but, at that moment, we were exhausted because we had travelled, I think 14 or 16 hours, we had rented a car at the airport, we had difficulty finding the house we had rented in Gatineau, Quebec, and when we found the house, we couldn't get in and it was very cold. But okay, one more story to tell.

It is especially difficult when you've hit a plateau 😓. I like the solution and positivity of your comment though 👍🏻. Having friends from other cultures definitely helps you become more motivated to study and speak another langue to strengthen relationships 🤗. Once I was working with a neighbor in his junk food store, and he went out for doing sort of a dilligence or I don´t know precisely what for. After that, I was told to pay attention of some empanadas (a delicious colombian food, cause I´m from Colombia)so I was there just doing what I was supposed to do. Then, I went out for a moment to buy a gum in the store just next to the house of my neighbor and have left the door semiclose. When I went back, the door had been completely closed by the wind and I was told byother neighbors that there was a lot of toxic smoke entering into the kitchen of them (the other neighbors). The empanadas burnt and fortunately my boss did not get angry but was patient and everything was solved ufff what a lucky man I am. Please correct my grammar and thanks for all, I love you and I love your channnel, english and canada

Hello Suhag 😁. Actually, I already answered this question when you wrote it in the comment section of another video 😅. In case you don't see that response, I will repeat it here as well: Unfortunately both of those sentences are incorrect. As a general grammar rule, if you use a possessive pronoun (my, your, his, her, its, their, our) then you can't also use an indefinite pronoun (any, some, every, no, etc..) or an article (a, an, the). Your first sentence should be, "They wanted to get their work done by him." In your second sentence if you delete the word 'their' then the correct sentence is, "They couldn't get him to do any work." 😎
