Ahmed Deedat is making the point that the Bible is still being changed by Christian’s to fit their narrative. Allah (swt) mentioned the fact that they change the scripture with their hands in the holy Quran.

The main point was - did jesus complete his mission before the apparent crucifixion, or was it completed after the crufixion. If he completed his mission on earth before the crucifixion, as John 17:4, it means crucifixion is not required for salvation. this demolishes the whole christine doctrine of sacrificial atonement. So yes, this is a major issue, that can destroy present day christianity. I hope this helps.

This may help to understand "It is Finished". In another verse, Jesus asked his father that "If he be willing to take this cup from him". So when Jesus said: "It is Finished" That he was relieved of his burden, and Jesus was in a place of peace now, and taken up in grace. And the anguish of that moment was taken away.

If "It is finished" defines the job's completion then why considering it only at the time of crucifixion and then claim that Jesus is the greatest. That makes the claim not valid. If I whisper one message to the 2nd person and then he continue to whisper to the following persons until the last person (say no 30). However, the meaning of or context in which Jesus said "It is finished" in St. John 19:30 is CLEAR when you read the whole statement and Ahmad Deedat is right!: "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, IT IS FINISHED: and HE bowed his head, and GAVE UP THE GHOST." In Islam , Hesus is a prophet of God(Allah in Arabic) but christians believe Jesus as sin of God and then takes a U Turn Jesus is God. Jesus is seen worshipping One God in temples(synogouges). This is not Christian trickery. This is what all people who use translations are faced with. Sometimes it's not easy to express the nuances of another language. The word used for 'finished' in the two places is different. They are close but not the same. Perhaps one is better translated 'finishing'. I don't read Greek so I won't say definitively. You know who else doesn't read the Greek? Mr. Deedat and everyone commenting here. this would be a good question to ask a Greek reader. This not exactly the Satanic Verses.

This proves that Jesus was not crucified. He admits he 'finished" the assignment. No need to be crucified. His assignment was to bring folks to spiritual awareness of the only true God. The point there was if Jesus was the one who finished the message of almighty God and that no one else should come to preach the message of God. So Shk. Deedat was just telling how the word finished did not mean finish of the prophecy but that word could have been used just for some small tasks that's why finished occurred more than once.

Im amazed by how easy christian overlook any of the mistake in the bible and yet so critical when trying to put mistake on Qur'an... To the point even if its wrong its ok for the bible..

i think christain and muslim must not argue until the bible problem is solved. but that just can't happened. if it happened it will only prove Islam. every most recent discovery of some of the the earliest and uncorrupted gospels contains messages that is only proving islam.
