ABOUT THE WATER BOTTLE - I accidentally left the water bottle I used for this test in my car (in the hot sun) and it deformed. I didn't have another one and had to film. This was not an attempt to exaggerate wobble. I have plenty of other things on the desks so you can see everything else wobble. *Links + Coupon Codes Below* - Please use them as it costs you nothing, but helps keep the channel going! *DeskHaus (USA)* *IF YOU'RE USING A VPN, THE COUPON CODES WON'T WORK! Thank you for this review. I’ve been wanting to build my own desk for quite awhile since working 100% remote and this video helped me so much! It definitely validated and answered many of the concerns I had with the various desk bases and the other options of buying a whole pre-made desk. I waited for a sale and got the 60"x30" from Vari for under $600 with tax. I use it around 45" when standing and it is very stable. No wobble unless I'm actively trying to shake the desk; even then I only get a little monitor shake. The Deskhaus 20-year leg warranty is pretty sick though.

Have you considered a slick glass desktop? I might do that. I would cut it so only the main section, including area with the monitors needs to rise up...maybe a nice 48" wide section. No need to stress the motors lifting a 60" or wider area everyday if it is not necessary IMO.

Flexispot makes the E7Q "Odin" now that also has the quad motor quad leg design, and it's arguably even more robust than this design because the legs are pushed all the way out to the corners of the frame. AND it goes just as low as this desk. I'd love to see a comparison between that and the Deskhaus Apex Pro.

@allen7615 the starting price of uplift 4 leg with laminate top (30x60) is $1,200. Desk Haus with a real rubber wood top (30x60) is $1052 with my code ($1,100 without code). The Evodesk is over 2x the price. Looks fancy, but quite pricey! Other factors to consider: Desk Haus is made in America and In terms of warranty and customer service, I’ve seen desk haus really active on both Standing Desk and Desk Haus forums. Uplift is not made in America, not sure what their customer service is like. I don’t know much about Evodesk unfortunately!

I found the adjustable arms are really nice on gesture but I set it in 1 spot and never change it so it's not a feature ill miss BUT the chair gets hot and the seat cushion is too firm for my liking. I recently bought an Uplift Adjustable Height Conference Desk - 8' x 3'-6" (96" x 42")with bamboo top. It's expandable to 9' x 3'-6" (108" x 42"). I have the expansion leaf but my room would be too cramped at the 9' length. I added heavy-duty casters so I can move the desk around. The desk is absolutely rock solid and sturdy. It has 4 heavy metal legs and horizontal support bars connecting two legs on each side. The desk is so heavy the instructions recommended that 4 people flip it over. I flipped in on my own but it was quite challenging. Shipping was amazing with everything properly padded and protected. The electrical operation is super smooth and I added a Bluetooth dongle so it can be controlled by an Android or iPhone. It all just works. If my room was larger I would have gotten the 9' x 5' (108" x 60") ping pong version. But my desk is big enough for back-to-back 48" OLED screens so I can sit on either side of the desk. The desk is freestanding. I want to do a review when everything is all set up because it is really something to see.

I'm sure this is a beautiful desk but I have a Vivo desk that has served me well. It doesn't wobble unless I put weight behind it, it goes low, rises to a comfortable height, has presets, and you can buy accessories for it including wheels but note that wheels will rise the top by a few inches. It's less expensive but I am satisfied. I guess one should check out a variety.

Definitely. One thing that doesn't get discussed a lot in these reviews is exactly how you are using the desk. In my case I work in information technology and I have a laptop with a dock and a monitor. One monitor. It's all very light and all I want is something that is functional and good quality. I'm not looking for something that can lift 140 lb of Hardware up and down LOL

The major point of this video was to just showcase that paying a premium for “well known” desk brands (aka those that spend lots of $ on ads) does not get you a better desk when it comes to stability for people above 5’8. You can see in the tests with the other desks don’t have much weight on them, and they still wobble that hard!!

Thank you for one of the best vids I've ever seen on standing desks. My desk wobbles, and I always assumed it's because my 70-year-old weak hands, with the help of my daughter, just didn't screw things together tight enough during assembly. I had no idea it was a common thing among all two-legged desks! On another note, I'm curious as to what monitor you are using as well as the stand (which appears to be two pieces, but hard to tell). I have a 34" and 27" monitor, and I've been wanting to go to something larger (ideally 48"), but every monitor I've looked at gets mixed reviews. So I'm curious if you're happy with yours, and if so, what it is exactly. Thanks again for a great vid! Karen 😊

You can buy your own top as stated in the video. Go buy an ikea top for like $20 and then when you’re ready to upgrade, can swap out whenever you want. This can be a con for some people, but it doesn’t “lock you in” to a set table top that you can only get from the manufacture. So if you ever want a larger desk top in the future, different colors, etc, then you can easily switch it out. it’s extremely simple to install your own top (lay it down and just screw it in from the bottom)

ahahahahahaha YESSS. One of us...one of us... Congrats on those awesome pick ups!! As for protecting wood from monitors, you've got a couple options. The first is to go with a desk mount monitor arm, and they should usually come with some kinda rubber grippy pads that should help grip to your desk without damaging it. Keep in mind that rubber MAY leave some kinda residue there after a longggg period of time. If you want to just go with the original monitor legs, then similar resolution - try to find FELT (not rubber) pads to put under your monitor legs. felt shouldn't leave any kinda residue, but rubber can. Final resolution would be to get a desk monitor stand...but be warned...you may find yourself yelling at me again....kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d-Bodt11sZPcf2Q.html

Nice video Dan. I purchased two fully jarvis bamboo desks and I regret it. I should have been patient and purchased the deskhaus. My fully desks aren't even stable at normal sitting height. I tend to keep my wrists/elbows on the desk when I type. When I do that, it pushes down on the desk way too much causing my monitors to wobble. In my opinion, that should not happen. My autonomous doesn't even do that. Either way, they are fine for now and at least they look nice.

I built my own using the autonomous pro legs on a completely custom desktop made of a rare maple. I have 3, 27" monitors attached to it AND 2 full size PCs on it. My gaming machine AND a server, both in full/mid size towers (Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL and an older NZXT) I also have a work laptop, mouse, keyboard and a VR headset on it. I'm 6ft tall, I have to raise it pretty high when I'm standing for work. I don't really experience the kind of wobble you are showing, not anywhere close. It's sitting on a flat, hard floor. So maybe you're exaggerating the wobble or the top of my desk is better at dealing with the movement, but I've been using it now for a couple years and it's been rock solid, one of the best decisions I've made since going WFH. Respectfully, you are doing the physics wrong. Having more weight on the table will reduce the amount of force it takes to wobble it a given distance. It will simply require more force than when it's empty. However, once you do get it wobbling, then it will stay in motion longer (Newtons 3rd law) I have probably 200lbs on/clamped to my desk (320lb max) and it doesn't wobble because I won't exert enough pressure to make it move. Sure, the monitors move but they're on arms and they'd wobble on the deskhaus because that's how frequency and vibrations work. Things extended out on an arm will work now more. But the desk itself, it takes A LOT to move, therefore it is stable UNTIL it is pushed hard enough. Which, I have several kids and I tend to lean on it, still haven't had that issue. But having 2 legs per side will do what you show. From years of experience, you're exaggerating the results and you got the math/physics wrong about weight.
@Ahnestly

I noted that all the desks in the video are on carpeted floor, which I think many people have as their setup. This is why I did NOT include my standing desks at home in the various comparison shots - it would not be apples to apples. However, In terms of front to back wobble, my autonomous ergo pro still wobbles quite a bit at the higher heights. When you’re working, you may not experience a lot of wobble, but try taking your hand and pushing the front edge of your table top hard a few times. That’ll get the desk going. It may translate to slight shakes when working, but if leaning or you bump or something, means a bigger wobble. I went to Desk Haus’ warehouse, checked all the bolts/screws, and shook them myself and saw how much even high end standing desks from Herman miller, steelcase, autonomous, uplift, etc all wobble

Since most people have 0 experience with standing desks, I'm asking the question everyone should ask themselves - "what do you want to pay for? An extra $300 for cable management (secretlab)? An extra $300 to be locked into an ecosystem? Or an extra $300 for stability?" Anyways, best of luck with your purchase! I doubt I changed your mind here, but I hope I was able to at least get you to think WHAT exactly are you paying for with desks like Secretlab and the likes.
