Trakata: a fighting style where you turn off your light saber mid lock to throw enemies off balance. In universe, it's considered dishonorable by Jedi and cowardly by Sith so most don't use it, but Marrok is an undead mercenary, so pride doesn't really matter here. For real world production, they just consider it pace breaking and distracting, though I'd find it very cool to see choreographies surrounding this style.

@@jckcc If it was on me I would make sabers turning off slower instead of baning trakata, Vader had adjustable lenght same with Darksaber. But if you need to survive you use everything you can and depending on morality of your enemy is stupid.

Yeah tbh it was my one main gripe with this show

It was subplot from the clone wars where Palpatine was kidnapping children and wanted them trained in the ways of the dark side to be spies and assassins for him. So he gave the task to Vader, but Vader made the point of having them all trained and poorly and kept in line very firmly so they wouldn’t try to overthrow him but at the same time any bog standard citizen in the galaxy wouldn’t be able to stand up against them. But it was noted that only a few Jedi were able to stand up to the, like Ahsoka and kenobi but the others they were hunted down and ganged up on. So it highlights how poorly trained they are compared to Ahsoka who was taught by Anakin

Maul alone killed 2 inquisitors during the temple battle in rebels. The inquisitors are not on the same level as maul. Ahsoka herself killed an inquisitor shortly after rots

Some duels in the prequels look insanely over choreographed especially duel of the fates where the characters constantly intentionally miss each other. The duels in this series are a nice middle ground between OT and prequels duels
