AI 3D Modeling: Why Cool Algorithms Fail to Profit?

3D modeling is widely used in the media, gaming, and education industries. The global market size of 3D modeling and animation has reached 6 billion dollars (Mordor Intelligence).
In the past year, using AI to create 3D models, has gained much attention and many GenAI companies emerged. I led a research team of several PhDs, finished a prototype, and also talked to quite a few game studios and artists.
In this video, I’m gonna unfold the technical paths and share my views of the AI 3D space as a researcher and a founder.

great video! ❤ i've tried some workflows that involve tripo and autoremeshing and i completely agree, the result is just not worth the effort. a professional pipeline is so much more efficient and cleaner, with better control and iteration. i think there is potential in blender's geometry nodes combined with LLMs

3D animation and vfx are also getting popular on KZfaq and even other social media platforms these days, making this yet another ai tool that's putting the heat on smaller artists/creators

Thanks for sharing, yes! I believe AI will have many applications in 3D animation. Perhaps the title should be changed to "AI 3D modeling." Hope these tools can empower more individual creators like you and me
