This song was popular during the third Carlist War (1872-1876) and was sung by the Basque Carlists who where at that time quite unhappy spains current situation. The Queen of Spain Isabella II has abdicated just in the hope of the Don Carlos VII who were trying to run spain in a traditional sence but to bad that the crown went to the Savoy-Aosta Amadeo a liberal and freemason. He ruled for a couple of years until he to abdicated too. Then the Parlament decided to abolish the monarchy and decleared the first Spanish Republic it`s existance was shorter than Amadeos reign. Result the Republic got couped and the liberal branch of the Spanish Borbon got restored ending the Carlist war in a defeat for the Carlists. But the cause lives on.

good music. this is the first time Im actually hearing basque and it indeed a strange language, sounds kind of a mix between spanish and finnish. perhaps similar to what europe sounded like before the indo-european speakers arrived

Red beret of eibar refers to the liberal red berets. Same at the start of the song, when it says the girls of [ ] are right in not wanting to dance with the red berets it referring to the liberal red berets.

That's right. The liberal red berets are know as the "Corps of Mikeletes" well known as "los peseteros" ("the money-grubbers" as mentioned in the song) have been fighting for King Amadeo. That's also the reason why the Carlist have used in this war white berets instead of the classical red ones.

Not all of them look at 1:55. Plus I have to correct myself not every Carlist unit had white berets (but most had), like for example the Cavalry sticked to the red ones. But your right not all of the Paintings are from the third Carlist war, some are from the first war. Why? Because there aren't as many good pictures of the White berets Carlist, some are ugly low Quality 144p Pics and some aren't even fiting with the Context of the Song.

Yeah, you're right. I've used the official lyrics of the Song. I didn't know that there were a mistake with the lyrics. Anyway, thanks for pointing that out and as well for the congrats to me.
