Paraphrasing: "The AI is not saying black has omly a forty percent chance of winning. The AI is saying it's just more difficult for black after the 5-3. And isn't that what we want in our go: difficulty, complications?" Well said.

I've been wnating to learn this beautiful game of go for years now since my introduction of it in 2017. That is when I discovered your guys channel. Thanks so much for sharing this knowledge of the game. I found a go club nearby to actually demo the game someday which I do plan on doing this year. Thanks for these informative videos. Since I'm a visual learner brained, these help me a ton.

What if I tell you that an opponent loses by 40 or 70 points and he doesn't want to surrender, and in the latter, too, I've seen professionals who don't surrender, Black's hula is also 50 points

Well, some players prefer to play the game out completely, even when they're significantly behind, as a way to learn and explore different strategies. Ultimately, every game is a learning experience, no matter the score difference.

Am I the only one being tiggered by using a nice floor board to show the moves on, but then using it sideways? Don't get me wrong. I still enjoyed the contents of the video.

I felt the same

No worries, you're not the only one. So many people are bothered apparently =)

how can you tell it is sideways?
@davedevosbaarle24 күн бұрын
@@gm5240 2 things: [1] The grain of the wood should go from one player to the other, [2] The "squares" are purposefully a bit elongated in that direction (to compenate for the visual shorthening of lines in the direction of the line of sight, due to visual perspective).

So is playing 5-3 kind of like handicapping yourself.
@GoMagic5 ай бұрын
According to AI it kind of is, yeah. But then again, what are those 1-2 points at the start of the game?

for my sanity, please stop playing with the board sideways on these videos

LOL, true. To be fair on landscape-shot-videos I guess it makes more sense to position the board this way, but I still agree!

@@gm5240several ways to tell - in a go board, lines actually draw a rectangular grid - height is slightly higher than width. The border to the edge is also usually larger on the sides where the player sits. You can see that the opposite is true here, i.e. the board is sideways. The grain of the wood is also usually placed vertically to the player's POV, which is also not true here.
