Жыл бұрын

Jack the Ripper is a notorious and unidentified serial killer who terrorized the Whitechapel district of London in the late 1800s. His crimes occurred between August and November 1888, and his true identity has never been conclusively determined. The nickname "Jack the Ripper" comes from a letter allegedly sent by the killer to the London police.
Jack the Ripper targeted female prostitutes who worked in the impoverished areas of Whitechapel. While the exact number of his victims is debated, it is generally believed that he murdered at least five women. These victims, known as the "canonical five," are:
Mary Ann Nichols (August 31, 1888): Nichols, also known as Polly, was the first victim attributed to Jack the Ripper. Her body was discovered in Buck's Row (now Durward Street). She had been slashed across the throat and abdomen.
Annie Chapman (September 8, 1888): Chapman was found murdered in the backyard of 29 Hanbury Street. Her throat was cut, and her abdomen was mutilated. This case intensified the fear and panic in the community.
Elizabeth Stride (September 30, 1888): Stride's body was discovered in Dutfield's Yard. Unlike the previous victims, her throat was slashed, but her body was not subjected to further mutilation. Some speculate that the killer was interrupted during this attack.
Catherine Eddowes (also known as Kate; September 30, 1888): Eddowes was killed on the same night as Elizabeth Stride, but her body was discovered in Mitre Square. She suffered extensive facial mutilations, and her throat and abdomen were slashed.
Mary Jane Kelly (November 9, 1888): Kelly's murder was particularly brutal. Her body was found in her room on Miller's Court. Kelly's face was almost unrecognizable due to extensive mutilations, and her body was eviscerated.
These five victims, whose murders were attributed to Jack the Ripper, played a significant role in shaping the legend and notoriety of the infamous serial killer. The mystery surrounding Jack the Ripper's identity and the brutal nature of the crimes continue to captivate and intrigue people to this day.

Annie Chapman is the only "canonical" victim for whom there exists a known, confirmed photo of her during her life (the one used in this clip). No photos of the other 4 "canonicals" taken while they were alive have surfaced. Allegedly the descendents of "non-canonical" victim Martha Tabram own a photo of her taken while she was alive, but if so then they've so far decided not to release it.

We have only speculation as to who the real Ripper was and will never know. Forensics was so crude back then. We didn't have any of the high tech blood analysis capabilities, finger print detection methods, crime scene investigative tools, and laboratories that we have today. The cops also erased or bungled so much evidence that they couldn't tell what was waht anymore. It's all lost. So any claim of who the Ripper was is pure speculation and guesswork.
@FrdKal-Kal
@FrdKal-Kal 6 ай бұрын
@@MissPrudence100 True there is no concrete evidence that Kominski was Jack the Ripper. Other than DNA testing that's been done on the victims clothing. Very little to no eye witnesses either. Since Jack the Ripper commited his murders in the early morning hours and at midnight!

Scientists once tried to extract DNA from a shawl allegedly once owned by Catherine Eddowes. It was so contaminated due to handling by the police and family over the past 130 years that they couldn't get a DNA profile from it. I would imagine that that's the case for any artefact from the time. The police were not forensically aware in 1888. Even fingerprinting was relatively new.

Also this was the only video using “ai” pics that was remotely appropriate, since the victims are from almost 140 years ago. The Gacy victims photos are pushing an ethical boundary that’s going to keep you relegated to the fringes of the YT true crime community. These people still have living relatives, and many were children when killed. Some family members may experience a flood of joyful emotions seeing something like that, but some might be very upset. Either way, it’s not our place as people who follow or make content surrounding crimes and homicides to do that kind of thing without the permission of family members of the victims. This is a topic that generates A LOT of emotions for people for various reasons, and if you’re going to put out content, especially if you’re going to run a channel that’s solely for entertainment purposes, not so much a channel that’s trying to assist in cases by highlighting the facts and details behind it so the public is aware and can potentially call in tips to authorities, but also make ad revenue off it at that, you’ve *got* to take these kind of things into consideration and pause before you make videos or generated photos.
