Also worked at a hospital. The "close door" button doesn't work on the public-facing elevators, but the employee elevators DO have close door buttons that work, because by default the door stays open for a very long time for maneuvering of carts and beds. They delay long enough to meet the standard either way, but you're going to wait an extra 30+ seconds if you don't push the button because they're intentionally slow.

Hey Kyle. I spent the last 5 years installing and maintaining Elevators. The door close button has to work to comply with the elevator fire and safety code. But usually, having the door close button function is sold as an optional feature to try and milk as much money out of a client as possible. Lots of gross stuff like that plus lax safety and corner cutting that had me leave. Safe travels in your metal boxes hanging by a cable 'maintained' by the lowest bidder. Love the show!! Keep on climbing 💪

When I was a kid in school it wasnt cool to be interested in math and science. To be a nerd or a geek or someone who hates ball sports just wasnt cool. Now it is cool! Thanks, in large part, to people like you! I am now almost certain we wont devolve into an idiocratic society! But there is still some work to be done and some improvements to be made. I use the 'relate the material to them' thing you talked about all the time when I'm trying to describe how computers work (especially when it comes to the difference between memory and storage). I always equate a computer to a library. The building of the library is your computer. All the shelves and tables and stuff are the motherboard. The bookshelves are your hard drive, thus storing all the information in your computer. The tables inside the library are your ram, memory. Think about when you're studying, you go to the shelves, pull out a book, take it to a table, and find the information in the book. (running a program) You leave the book on the table in case you need information from it later. (ram holds temporary information to call back to it quicker if the program is run again, thus: memory) If you were to gather multiple books and leave them on the table, your studying would be slowed down because you'd have too many books to sift through to find the one you needed, so, what do you do? (running multiple programs between restarting / turning off your computer) You restart by clearing the table. (restarting the computer clears the temp data in the memory) Using that analogy I've been able to explain the general workings of computers to my parents, my sister, and even my dermatologist at one point (he asked about my 'Have you tried turning it off and on again?' shirt and I had to explain while he worked on my arm)

Kyle, Happy New Year. Thanks for another great video! One correction: hitting a small target moving at nearly 150 feet per second is precision athleticism at the level of a samurai or Jedi. The target carries enough power to obliterate a small dinosaur--err, bird. It's all a matter of perspective-- and it's the only sport that regularly gives away the game ball during the game. The 'close door' elevator button in almost every building I have lived in has worked. One building in particular had an obscene 'door open' time (20-30 seconds) and it would have been hell if the door close button didn't work.

Hey, Kyle and crew! Long time fan, first time commenter. Thor vs Superman? That is a hard fight to call. Superman has a HUGE variety of powers, the Infinite Mass Punch, and is nigh indestructible but is vulnerable to Kryptonite, all magics, and ELECTRICITY! Plus, his body only acts like a solar battery, storing power for later use, but it can run low or even run out. High power electrical flows can disorient, disable, or even kill Superman. While it would be a long and brutal fight, I think that Thor could come out on top if, and that is a BIG if, he realizes early enough in the fight that Superman is vulnerable to EVERY attack Thor can launch at him save for physical contact. Also, Mjolnir wouldn't be much of a problem for Superman because he can lift it NO MATTER THE MASS/WEIGHT not to mention that he is more pure of heart and spirit than even Thor. Superman can hold a black hole in the palms of his hands, after all, and he avoids killing anyone unless he has absolutely NO choice, and even then he is hesitant to do so. That means that Superman can not just lift but wield it with suprising ease. Stormbreaker doesn't have that safety feature so Superman could easily deflect or even catch/lift it without trouble. If Thor is to win, he must throw everything electrical he can at Superman and hope to fry him from the inside out then physically beat him down. Again, I believe this is possible, however, Thor MUST realize Superman's vulnerability to electricity VERY quickly. Aside from cooking Superman, the electricity would also weaken his "invulnerability" to the point where Thor's physical attacks would start to cause physical damage. Reference The Death of Superman where Doomsday fought Superman for so long the Supe's "batteries" ran low and weakened him enough for Doomsday to strike a killing blow as Superman struck a similar blow to Doomsday. I'd say, all in all, it is a 50/50 shot for Thor or Superman to win. It all depends on factors and variables we might have a hard time seeing without a TON of research and number crunching. Still hoping Superman wins, though. He has been my favorite comic hero for a long time. Have a great New Year and many well wishes to you and the crew.
