Hey....it's me... 😅 I can't believe it's been two months since my latest cover, but I've been incredibly busy with work, and got a little disheartened by the recent changes AI covers have gone through these past few months (a lot has changed). It also didn't help that everytime I tried making filtering acapellas for songs, I never could get all of the adlibs out/isolated - which bothers me so much because I always want my covers to be as complete as possible, and to be able to showcase the vocal line ad-libs. Also, every song I attempted lately, I would simply not be convinced by the AI? You know the story guys, there's always a margin of error with AI - it doesn't sound 100% like the girls, I'm aware, but the goal is to get as close as possible. But some of the songs I've tried lately...it might as well have been the original singers - that's how little the AI took to those songs. So yeah, I just got a little discouraged because nothing seemed to quite work or stick. It also didn't help that I tried making new models for the girls back in late-October with the recent material we've gotten, but by using the RVMPE method....and the results were honestly terrible. So I have to re-do e-ve-ry-thing from scratches, but with the mangio-crepe methid this time (the one I used to make my first models). So between this, work and life these past few weeks, I've honestly just put covers aside a ltitle. But maybe it's not all bad because Loossemble just dropped new covers (which are going to be SO useful), and so did Yeojin, Yves and Jinsoul as well on their respective KZfaq channel. So yeah... lots of stuff to feed to the AI whenever I got the time (and patience 😅). But I wanted to give 'Drama' a try and it worked....more or less lol! But yeah I really wanted to try and make this one work as much as possible, especially since I haven't done an aespa song yet. So here we go ✨

how do you manage to isolate the ad libs? genuinely curious

@@jm_rres I'm no specialist on the matter, so maybe somebody more inclined could answer this better... But, as for me, I don't believe there is a "unique" and "single" way to do it ; a lot of is actually trial and error, repeating stuff multiple times but with different settings, peeling off layer by layer until you get the result you want... It can differ from one song to another depending on how the producers mix the songs, so there's no "real" solution as far as I personally know. The website I use is x-minus (.) pro with a very cheap monthly subscription, and it basically offers multiple filtering models (that each have different algorithms/AI functions, so you can get different results), and so I usually try peeling off layer by using the different models. The biggest issue is that sometimes you *will* manage to filter the ad-lib after many trials and errors, but it will be severely compromised by all the shenanigans you've done to get it to that point and so once you put it through the AI to change the voice, the result won't be good because you need good quality audio for good quality results...

Fun fact, I couldn't filter Ningning adlib at first, so I had to use a different vocal take for Chuu which was mostly a "OooH Oooh" type of ad-lib - but then I eventually managed to filter Ningning's original ad-lib which sort of includes a "hey/yeah" type of vocalization in there. I always try lines with different members to see what I think sound the best, but I accidentally did not mute Chuu when I tried Haseul singing Ninging's adlib, and I thought the two vocal takes went surprisingly well together, almost like an harmony. So Chuu kinda goes "Ooooh" while Haseul goes "Heyyy" and it sort of reminded me of that one time they shared a highnote on 'Oh (Yes I Am)' lol 😅

Thank you for doing this, and glad to be back! ♥I always try to make my line distributions realistic, so I'm realizing now that I kind of messed up with Heejin... 😔 I'm also realizing now that Yeojin is quite a bit lower than the rest - which is a shame as well considering how close the rest is. Where does Gowon stand?
