Today I'm reviewing Filmora 13. This video editing software brands itself as the best editing software for creators in 2024, but how does it perform, really?

I spent time learning Filmora so that you don't have to. There are a lot of convenient features like stock footage and copyright free music built right into filmora's UI, but it lacks the computing power and professional tools of competitors like Davinci Resolve and Premiere Pro. That said, these softwares are for different users. Filmora truly caters toward beginner editors and businesses that would benefit from its plug-and-play nature, but serious editors will be better served elsewhere.

I like Filmora and use It. It is, as you said, very good for KZfaq creators and beginning to intermediate editors (that's me). My one big complaint with Wondershare (the parent company) is the assets subscription plan. As long as you subscribe to the service, you can download and use the assets. If you let the subscription expire, you can no longer use any of the assets that you previously downloaded. With the subscription plan, you also have to download sets or "Paks" of assets when you might only want to use one of the items in the Pak.

Thank TheXaminedLife very much for pointing out the DISADVANTAGE of Assets subscription plan. If I stop subscribing, I can NO LONGER USE any of the assets that I previously downloaded. That's UNFAIR! I will not buy the Assets subscription then. For royalty free music, I will use Audiio service (their brand name includes 2 letter i). They have subscription plan and lifetime license which cost $299. The BEST thing is If I stop subscribing, I CAN STILL USE all the sound files that I previously downloaded. Also their license cover all the areas I can use such as KZfaq, and commercials. They're so good that their customers include big companies such as: Adidas, Netflix, Nike, NBC, Toyota, ...

Great video! I'm thinking of switching from Descript to Filmora since it seems like Filmora offers a lot more for the price. Do you know if the text-based editing has improved since you made this review? I've used Davinci for a few years and it takes me too long to edit so a simpler tool would be great.

Thanks! Sorry, but I’m not sure if they’ve updated the text based editing recently. Have you tried the cut page in davinci? It’s a different style than the edit page and might be more intuitive to you. :)

Thanks for the video. I used Wondershare Filmora, then quit using it when the subscription ended. I might get it again. The whole AI thing is almost nauseating as it appears that so many subscription-based model softwares, like Wondershare Filmora, and others, offer the hype that their new version has "AI this" or "AI that" and sometimes these add-on bonus tools add very little value while being memory hogs. LOL. Thanks again for the video.

I’m guessing a mix of content that noone is really interested in (like Filmora after last years debacle) and youtube moves in waves? Some videos have several 1000 views, mainly the more «broad» videos (mckinnon bag sucks, davinci +++) - but yeah, the mix if «high profile content» hitting a spot in the popularity curve of youtube at opportunt moments mixed with lesser popular topics will make things fluctuate, and on smaller channels this is sooooo much more visible :)

I used to make videos about a different topic and made the mistake of leaving those videos up when I switched niches. A couple of them went viral and boosted my sub count with people who aren’t interested in what I do now. That’s why the numbers don’t line up! Subs are mostly a vanity metric on youtube nowadays and don’t really matter anyway. 🤷‍♂️

You do not get assets when you get filmora you get them when you pay for subscription

Hey if anyone sees this video. I suggest don't use this program. It sucks and the people who run this program are scammers. Take it or leave it and this is guy to happy about this progarm to be true. You know what. When you see this program run!!! It's not worth it.
