@@decimatenconquer a slightly more sci-fi prediction for AI is that it'd somehow hide its capabilities until it got in a position to self-replicate and either do massive damage or do one of those wacky AI things like install itself as our new god, or disable all our devices for whatever reason. the possibilities are limitless when the premise is a program that can interface with anything and do whatever it wants personally i'm just hoping nobody's stupid enough to do what they'll inevitably do and trust it with something dangerous. i don't think image generators will be the ones to do that obviously but it is something to be wary of. text-to-image was barely a concept a few years ago, artists took a hit and saw just how little some people value their skills (or the concept of art as a medium for authentic expression) if the machines dont do it, maybe they'll expose enough of our nature to weaken our resolve and retreat into ourselves, who knows

I get that this is trying to develop a swing from minimal principles, but I think one more reward for "Keeping the head as near to the start as possible" might have a marked improvement on the overall shot quality since other than "how to hold a golf club" and "start with your feet ~shoulder width apart" (both of which seem to be baked into the model) it's the first thing drilled into new golfers.

The wedge simulation has to be my favorite simulation just turning from falling over without moving to hacking at the ball and missing every time 9:26 to stoping right in front of the ball and falling over backwards 9:32 and then continuously whiffing the ball multiple times.

I know the green is relatively flat, but any bumps on the green make things a VERY different situation. When learning golf, you do actually have to get a good feel for the different slopes and mini-hills you will encounter.
