If you have the speaker still, try listening to CW with the AGC set to fast. It makes the RX "drop" faster, sometimes helping decode weaker signals.

Good eye, for SSB I do use fast, evidently cw was set to mid.

howdy joe.good speakers im all about good speakers on my Ham & CB radios. good review. who is going to the Stone mountain/ Atlanta ham fest this year? always been a biggie and looks like the bigger dealers like HRO MFJ are coming out from under there rocks finally and are going to be there..

It is pricy, but if you compare its price to other DSP speakers or controllers, you’ll see they are priced about the same but with this speaker you also get the Bluetooth and microphone features that you won’t get on “ham purpose made” DSP products. This is more toward those that would already be willing to spend that money on such devices but with the consideration of added Bluetooth and microphone for radios such as the 705. I suspect this only works well if the signal is substantially higher amplitude than the noise. I doubt it would help copy signals that are only barely above the noise. The fading signal near the end of the video is an example of that. That’s a situation where clarification might be needed the most.

I think it’s hard for any device to overcome the fading signal, but I’m sure some do better than others. I don’t think this speaker all by itself is an all in one solution, additional devices such as selective band pass filters and noise reducing devices could also help. I do agree with you though, as you said, example was right there in the video👍
