I believe the 80g was a mistake. I think they were misrepresented by most vendors. They’ve come out and said they’re actually 65g springs, but “slow” because of their length

still considering if i should get these or the gateron cj, and thanks btw for including the "frankenswitch potential" section, it's really helpful. oh also regarding the vega, i see that you've done a couple videos where sometimes you use 1 case foam or 2. for your personal preference, which configuration is your favourite? the vega itself is not a very flexible board (not looking at the plateless build lol), but do you think the amount of foam used will effect the bounciness of it if at all?
@TofuTypes2 жыл бұрын
Regarding case foam I prefer 2, there’s still some flex with the Pom plate and just using it as a gasket mount. Oh yes obviously no foam would provide the most amount of flex and the more foam you add the less flex you get

Gateron cj kings O:
@daconvertible39422 жыл бұрын
You should try out the gateron CJ (China Joy) switches, It's been getting alot of attention lately, it's basically a gateron ink but with a pom stem, it makes it super smooth, even most MK Influencer said it is the smoothest switches they have tried, let me know your thoughts on it and maybe do a frankenswitch build wit it O_o also nice video, and i recommend you put somewhat of a chill lofi type of music in the background when you're doing your commentary part, but also make it abit quiet so they can still hear your voice while hearing the light background music on the back
@TofuTypes2 жыл бұрын
I’ve been looking at them too but haven’t pulled the trigger yet LOL the oil kings are also a Pom stem so interesting to see what separates them apart from that. Oh yes I’ve been thinking about that LOL maybe for future ones that I already haven’t finished I can do something like that :3

I read your channle name and I looked through your videos. You don't have to mention me if you do this but, with your Name and Picture I might as well share a build I would do in the future some when. So hear me out: White Tofu case a full white set of japanes keycaps R5 in the same japanese set but in black to pay hommage to the great Fujiwara AE86 Haven't thought about plate and switches but since the theme is tofu maybe something silent for the soft thud sound and a carbon fibre plate maybe (omg I just live time thought of this, but I don't quite know if the car gets a carbon fibre hoof or if it's just painted black)

cherry blacks aren't as smooth as these either :3 gotta break them in to be nice :)
@haomingli61752 жыл бұрын
oil king's long spring gives a more satisfying bottom out, while cherry blacks with their short but very heavy springs provide too much cushioning, at least in my opinion. Also oil kings are smoother and deeper, especially when stock.
@Daniel-dj7fh2 жыл бұрын
I've been super interested in just getting a hand full of silent blacks from cherry lately
@lowurcase32382 жыл бұрын
i think the cherries have a refined higher pitch sound than the oil kings. the oil kings are pretty deep and are a heavier switch. people love the cherry top out sound though and the whole cherry black switch in general

do you think that the distance travel the punctuation and the 80g will make this a good fit for gamers?
@TofuTypes2 жыл бұрын
that's all personal preference. I game with almost all my switches and personally I like lighter switches between the 55g-63.5g range. Some of my friends swear by heavier springs so it just comes to personal preference. Technically any switch can be a good fit for 'gamers' just depends on what kind of switch you're looking for.

If you wanna try out linears for the first time I don't think it's wise to shell out that much money on these. Cheaper alternatives would be the Gateron Milky Yellows (would need some breaking in) or maybe the Gateron caps. They're way more reasonably priced

Im sorry i am new to keyboards, can anyone explain what does frankenswitch mean?
@TofuTypes2 жыл бұрын
Frankenswitch is a subsection of modifying keyboards! Where you take parts from existing switches and put them together to make a new switch. For instance you can take the bottom housing from an alpaca, stem from a NK Cream, and a top housing from any cherry switch and mash it together to create a frankenswitch called Black Cherry Pie or BCP's. It's a whole different rabbit hole haha
