About Priya's Seven Strings

Priya’s Seven Strings was founded by Priya Prakasam, a passionate Veena artist based out of Dallas, Texas. It is her humble initiative to spread the divinity of this ancient string instrument in the land of opportunities. Veena is closely associated with the Indian Goddess Saraswati(Indian mythology) and has evolved into various forms over hundreds of years. It is a privilege to share this knowledge with those who are keen on learning this art form. She offers in-person and online classes for ages 7 and above! Grade certifications are offered as well. Priya firmly believes that there is no age limit to learning this ancient art form from India! Feel the strings to feel the magic!

First up it's such a soul soothing one to listen,,the veena note,background score,visuals along with their voice injects some sort of devotional vibes into your veins & makes you feel obsessed with it.. lastly i've never been fond of listening to devotional songs but this is something different,,wanting u to listen to it over n over again.. credits to the entire team👏..keep them coming🔥..!!

I always feel that South Indian Sanatanis have preserved bhakti and Dharma. North Indians have lost out. May Maa bless all these people. When Avtar of Maa Kali came to South She praised devotion of people there. Thousands of people gathered to have Darshan of Maa. Maa saw that everybody was quiet and they were all reciting God's name mentally with closed eyes. Then Maa said Bangaliyo ko bulao aur dekho in logo ko. Who was She? Giuru Maa of famous Karnataki Classical Vidushi Shrimati M. S. Subbulakshmi, Maa Anandmayi.

So mesmerizing!!!...I always feel indebted to my brethren of South India to keep our country's culture & legacy alive and healthy despite so many ups & downs throughout history. While listening to this, I felt like being pulled inside the screen of my laptop and being present in the ground watching all those smiling faces while reciting this mangal strotam. Thanks to the wonderful camera work for giving me feel of virtual reality. Giving performance in group usually give some kind of stress of keeping sync with others, however, while watching everyone here, especially the kids, it felt as if they were in some kind of trance and the rhythm was flowing out of them effortlessly. Everyone seemed like getting some kind of eternal peace which was making them smile with divine grace. Talking about dresses of performers here, I can challenge that dressing sense of our Indian culture, being so colourful, elegant and attractive, can beat anyone in this world hands down. I wish to touch feet of every female participating here as I felt presence of various Devi's in each of them...sabhi ko mera shat-shat naman...Jai Maa Bharti!!!

Our family chant this sloka for the last more than sixty years. This sloka gives us the mental strength and removes fear, rather hesitation in our minds before starting on any big works. I know for sure how difficult it is to follow our great tradition, outside of Tamil Nadu. You are doing this in the USA. Great. Pls try to follow this. Your attempt is really Great.
