Another excellent video. You mean spiral energy. Is the motion is spiralling used in aikido to escape locks and/or use opponents force against the them? Any examples?

Those hips swings aren't good for your body structure 'cause it could be easilly broken and that's called kuzushi.

You're welcome to try! Seriously my friend we really need to train together as I think things often appear more vulnerable than they are on video, and I'm always keen to pressure test what we do, from as many perspectives as possible. With luck once your countries troubles are resolved we'll be able to get together. I for one would like to play with some of the "pre-war" aikido I see in your videos as often some of the kneeling drills especially look "compliant" but I'm sure there is more to them than meets the eye!

or do you means uke's hips once the technique is applied? where in the video exactly are you referring to, out of interest?
@vano-559

@@AIKIDOSILVERDALE actually taking hips is core idea of nikajo so it's not the best way to attack opponent's structure by moving hips. It adds unneeded degrees of freedom between legs which power is good to utilize and upper part of body. I gladly join your practice and we could probably have some collab however I need to manage my current situation and establish own well-being.

Do you mean sensei's hip movement? if so I can testify he stays VERY solid throughout lol. I', 15 kg heavier and a fair bit taller than him but once it's on, it's on. I can't say I ever feel any vulnerability in his structure during technique - he's very low on the list of people I'd try kaeshi-waza on hahaha

@@nikosskeptikos6295 hips swing create nice impuls on upper body but uses less legs power 'cause it probably will be hard to deliver thru bent body structure. One of the differences between old and modern Aikido is about utilizing legs power that hits thru whole body amplifying by big muscles of torso to joint of opponent.
