Ushiro waza are techniques on attacks from behind. Here are some basic aikido techniques against a neck and wrist hold, ushiro katatedori kubishime. It is not a choke, but a control grip. A choke would need to be countered differently and more urgently.
Ushiro is usually practiced in two main ways - gotai and jutai. Gotai is from a static position, when the attacker has completed the grip. In jutai you start moving before that. Only gotai is shown in this video, because that is where this attack gets particularly challenging. In jutai, the solution is pretty much like in ushiro ryotedori, which means acting before the neck hold is reached.
The way to get out of a firm grip from behind is almost the same on whatever grip. You use the same body turns and similar hand movements in every case. Of course, there are different solutions practiced in the aikido world, but the ones I show here are those that I trust the most.
For clarity, I mostly do the techniques rather slowly on the video. In some cases I go faster, but of course that can be done with every technique shown.
