Helllo and welcome to another Project Tea Cup vlog! Come write a novel with me as I cafe hop around Tokyo. I'm currently working on a fantasy novel, and I'm about to kick off draft four of the story (which is the final draft of the book!). It was a really, lovely, self indulgent way to work--I worked out of some beautiful cafes and loved getting the opportunity to show you around Tokyo as well. Thank you so much for watching 💛

There's nothing wrong with treating yourself to something nice. If you have the financial capacity to do so, just do it. Life is hectic enough as it is. As always, great video!

Sounds person here! sometimes microphones and speakers can pick up radio signals - it could be something in the internal fibers of your microphone or one of your audio cables. It's usually based on the area you're recording in!

I love working in cafes! Co-working and body doubling helps me focus. And libraries can be a bit cavernous and cold sometimes, cafes are cosy and have built-in asmr of china clinks and lofi music and murmuring conversation. I appreciate the qualifier that money doesn't need to be spent to be productive - very important, but also if you do have the money for it, it's not extravagant and it's very human ✨🌙✨

Recently subscribed to your channel and I find your vlogs really cosy but also really motivating! Seeing you work on your novel makes me want to work on mine and finally complete a draft for once. So excited to watch this vlog, I hope to go to Japan one day too and that you have a great time there. Thanks for all the effort and time you put into your videos (and for sharing your process with us while you’re on vacation too!). ❤

yay! A new one! I love these so much! I'm taking a break from my fallen angel since writing the first book in my notebook physically and mentally drained me out. But I'll get to it when I feel up to it. As always great video!

I love what you said about people feeling like they need to look aesthetically pleasing while making art/writing. I do feel like this is because of social media and artists also having to content create and put that pretty picture forward which isn’t reality. Lovely vlog. And so glad you treated yourself. ❤

I’d like to visit Japan one day. I’ve never been and I would like to see their culture and foods they eat. Yes there is a lot of anime, comic books, video games etc, but more importantly, the history. It’ll be an exciting adventure

Thank you for being real. I love cafés and pretty places and go there too often, more often than I can afford lol. But still most of the work gets done when I'm at home, 1am, looking a mess, crouching on my chair, stressing out about deadlines and drinking lots of tea. Creativity is not very pretty.

I love your video :) The cafe Trips is helping me write my book. lol the beginning chapter takes place in a cafe lol. Also , If you have the money to do something nice. I say do it. Life is too short to just not do it. but , Also being cautious with money is a good thing , lol The Goblin comment is so true. I have had my messy hair , wanting to be under a blanket days before and those are the rare moments. I actually get out alot of words. If I'm not procrating and not writing lol.

I'm in the states and I only went to a Starbucks for coffee for the first time this year lol and I....still didn't get the hype! But I totally get what you mean. We don't have too many privately own coffee shops around me, and I feel bad just taking my computer and sitting in there for a few hours when people want to come in to eat and drink coffee. With Starbucks though, that's basically the culture so it makes sense to go there for work. I know what you mean though, in reality that's really not the life for a lot of people who WFH or write cause it can get expensive, but when you're in a new place or desperately need a change of scenery and escape, it's a great way to explore! I almost always feel guilty if I spend money on coffee out, I can't help it. Financial trauma is REAL. I was in a similar boat, I really didn't have much money at all until my 30s and am constantly reminded by my friends that it's okay, you can afford to treat yourself a bit now & that's ok!

You've worked your absolute behind to be where you are. Enjoy those cafes! But I 1000% understand the difficulties feeling odd around spending money that seems frivolous. Trauma from growing up without much money is a real thing and you're the first person I've heard that verbalized it so well 🖤 but try to enjoy! You can't take it with you in the end haha.

Hi!!! Former Teavana employee! Teavana was a tea company that was bought up by Starbucks a few years ago. They used to specialize in loose leaf tea, but now it's Starbuck's more high-end teas (I'm assuming) compared to Tazo. I'm sure that out of the US, the Teavana name gave Starbucks a lot more tea options because the original company had contacts with various tea gardens. Love your videos! Very motivating as I possibly move to trying to write a novel after working on screenplays the past few years.

I'm going backin September and would love to get some editing done on draft 3 of my own adult fantasy novel, do you have a favourite cafe you would recommend in Tokyo? Also in Kyoto and Osaka as we're going there too?
