Aimpoint Acro P-2 (Initial Impressions)

Acro P-2 checks out, short video don't have too much time behind it yet but I am really liking it so far. Word on the street is the P-2 gives plus 20 accuracy and at least 10 Instagram followers.

I was going to buy an Aimpoint Acro P-2, but l got a killer deal on a RMR 1MOA, maybe sometime in the near future for a second duty pistol. Subbed.

I have the Acro P-2 mounted on my full size P320. Its my first pistol mounted red dot and it was very easy for me to pick up the dot when drawing from either AIWB or strong side OWB. My P320 is the M17 variant that has a loaded chamber indicator that causes the front lense to slightly fog up after a few rounds. I may get the non loaded chamber indicator slide and barrel to remedy that but for now i just swipe my thumb over the lense. I was very lucky to have been able to get one as they are usually out of stock and the Sig closed emitter red dot looks like it will break easy.

Thats an interesting problem youre having with the LCI, I dont seem to have any of that with mine, that is bizarre but it is definitely a solid option!

@@RedactedGear not sure what else it could be, its going to get worse once I shoot suppressed so I will try a non LCI set up and see if that fixes the issue

That is really bizarre. I know we aren't using the exact same setups, but my Glock has an LCI (obviously) and it doesn't seem to blow gas up on the ACRO, only from the chamber once the slide cycles. Keep me updated I'm curious. Could just be the way Sig has the insides made up compared to a Glock.

I have two of them and have used 3 of them. Had one go down but Aimpoint fixed me up within a week or so. It’s the best closed optic out right now. Even with the issue. I have only had to go up one in sunny days. 1000+ rounds

@@RedactedGear interior front glass cracked after about 300 rounds. Sent it in to be fix and they just replaced it.

Definitely a dot I want to add to my list to test. Best part of having pistols/slides with plates is trying different dots. Is the rmr and holosun the only dots you have substantial time behind to compare it to?

Yup rmr, sro, and holosun stuff is what most of my time has been with. Haven’t gotten around to the mps and some of the sig stuff

@@RedactedGear all other feature sets and pros and cons aside how do you find the P2 compares to the SRO as far as picking up the dot watching it track in recoil and just how it feels when you’re shooting? SRO is my current favorite and I’m interested in your thoughts as I haven’t shot the two next to each other

SRO is easier in my opinion, but the ACRO does just fine, the height is what helps it out so much. Basically if I had them both, SRO would go on a USPSA gun and ACRO would go on a carry piece. They both have their place, like I said in the vid the ACRO is chunky, I definitely feel it in my wrists a little bit more when using that over my RMR.

Does your glass get dirty fast? I can’t see through mine after a mag

I haven't had any issues with that yet. I did shoot about 100 rounds through it on its first range day back to back. Are you using it on a sig by chance?

It may be the LCI blowing gas and carbon on it, I know someone had mentioned a similar problem with their p320.
