Aimpoint Acro P-2 (RMR Killer?)

First off thank you guys for all the support, you guys are awesome! Got a few new things coming and planned for new videos so don't miss out. Quick update on the Acro P-2 and how it has been treating me so far as well as some touches on it compared to the RMR type 2. If you guys have any questions feel free to drop em' down below!

I bought the RMR first. Just got an Acro. I’m in complete love with the Acro. I can find the dot sooo much easier. The glass is perfect. At first I cared about the boxes. But it doesn’t matter at the end of the day. I’m debating on ripping my RMR off my home defense gun and buying an Acro to put on it. I’m running the Acro for duty use on a G34. YMMV.

My local shop had a factory milled Glock 45 with the P2 (direct milled, not the MOS plates) and co witnessed suppressor sights for $1250. Needless to say I instantly walked out with it.

@@MrSmith-zy2bp Glock is cutting the slides from what I've been told. They are still listed as an "MOS" model though.

Just under six for an rmr lol jesus. Dude took a bath for that box. With Black Friday and Christmas sales where did you find a rmr that was that expensive?

I actually got it for a little cheaper than that, that was the list price at the local shop. I got it a year or two ago.

Right on man! I know the 6354DO and 6390RDS are some of the most popular so I wanted to put out as much info as I could on both to help people decide and "know" if their setup will fit it or what modifications are needed to make it work!

Buy an extra sight tool, they are easily left behind at the range. The Acro P2 is my first pistol mounted red dot and I enjoy shooting with it. I had it mounted on my M-17 but have moved it to my Staccato P. I am still not committed to having a red dot on my edc handguns, but I am sure I will come around to it soon. Closed emitters are great optics for those who use their pistols in adverse weather conditions. I live in a very wet , humid environment, and have never had any issues with fogging . Great review, I like seeing what other people think of this optic

Really hope Trijicon will improve the RMR with all these new enclosed pistol optics coming out. Give it a side load battery, improve the glass to reduce distortion around the edges, and enclose it. Love Trijicon but I want an enclosed pistol optic for my woods gun. Honestly leaning the SIG Romeo 2 over the Aimpoint. My Romeo 4T was a major pleasant surprise and kicked my MRO patrol to the curb. I’d like an Aimpoint but to me the Romeo 2 just seems like the better option for me. Sage Dynamics Romeo 2 test makes me confident in it. I like the steel shroud approach and that the real poly lense is an easy replacement if scratched.

I'm with you on trijicon needing to get with the times and update/release a new enclosed emitter competitor for the ACRO. I highly doubt they are just sitting around not doing anything in that realm, if I had to guess we could probably expect to see something from them this year at Shot Show to rival the ACRO and MPS.

I've been putting off another RMR purchase in hopes they release an updated pistol optic soon. I've bought a couple of Steiner MPS lately but Ive designed them to back up AR optics to my lpvos. I think the Aimpoint Acro's battery life and mounting system are better than the MPS. The glass is super nice in the MPS. I can't find Acros for less then $600 and almost got 2 MPS for the price of 1 Acro.

I purchased the ACRO P2 for my Glock 19X MOS Threaded. Great Red Dot. I didn’t buy it for the box. ACRO P2 is built like a tank & is an awesome Site. When I ordered the ACRO from Aimpoint I also ordered their ACRO MOS Glock mount. Awesome Red Dot. Just buy one if you can catch them in stock

I hope the acro p2 is more consistent in its machining than the holosun 509t and the steiner mps. Ive had issues with plates and optics that mount with the picatinny style. They were all either tilted to one side, the optic didnt sit center on the slide, or the bracket wouldnt sit flush. This causes the screw to bend and eventually snap the head off. The clamp style mounting requires a much higher accuracy rate in machining than a flat surface with two srew holes.

Good video, the ACRO is next on my list to get. I got a project right now lm turning my Glock 22 into a Glock 17, l got the Glock 17 slide with a RMR cut and internals from Brownells for a good price, l had an extra RMR that need it a home but next year lm for sure picking an ACRO for a future Glock 34.

I don’t know about RMR killer, but definitely stiff competition for the RMR. The RMR will always have it’s spot in the market. I can’t wait for trijicon to come out with an enclosed emitter pistol dot.

Same here, only a matter of time before they release their enclosed emitter. I gotta make some cringe title for the video (I don't buy into that stuff they are both super solid options lmao)

@@RedactedGear as a SHTF type of red dot to put on a handgun that u would expect to take a absolute beating and survive with no issues. Would u want the RMR or ACRO?

If I was going to absolutely beat the brakes off of both optics I think the RMR would take the spanking pretty well. Both have downsides. Extreme use in all weather conditions the RMR will have the problem of being an open emitter. The ACRO would not suffer the same weather issues due to it being enclosed. The RMR's overall shape seems to be a "stronger" design than the ACRO (The horns on top of the RMR are designed to handle some force). The ACRO does have a sacrificial lens on the front so you can take a bashing to the front before you lose the real front glass and have a useless optic. They are both very viable options in my opinion, the best way to think about it in my opinion is the strengths of one are almost the downfall of the other. RMR open emitter but strong body, ACRO enclosed but MAYBE a little "weaker" body. They are so similar but so different at the same time it's kinda hard to say but I like both personally and use both on my carry pieces.

@@RedactedGear Yeah, using "wicked" to emphasize something was very much a regional New Englander thing for years and years, but I'm not surprised it's spread further over time. If you'd said "hella bright" I might've guessed you grew up on the west coast. The internet no doubt has played a role in regional slang spreading around too. Happy new year man.

No expert here. depending on what gen G17 you have the Agency arms syndicate slide is only like $550 at midway USA right now and uses their optic plate system . I’ve had great luck with mine . Very light .. not a lot going on with it . Considering what an optic cut and re-coating cost , it’s a steal imo. Hope that helps !

The front is an ameriglo blacked out suppressor height and the rear is a blacked out agency (came with the acro plate). When I had the RMR on there I used the matching ameriglo rear sight.

Id strongly recommend a P-2 simply because they fixed their issues they had with the P-1, but that would be a killer setup!

If acro is a killer of rmr I wonder what the eps carry or eps or 509 lol rmr got smoked by others and there prices are still high 😂😂😂😂 way to have your own country men's back nope got to get that good service out of China 😅😅😢
