The song was written by "Brother" Claude Ely, a Pentacostal preacher, and recorded by him for King in the 1950s.

I’m learning bass and am blown away by the ability of their bass player to keep up this steady rhythm and play such clear notes. My hand would be in a cast!

Their dynamics are amazing. Love the bass riffs. In lieu of a drummer, the bass is the timekeeper, and this guy is fantastic. They all are!

can't say enough good things about this band. Only that before I heard them I was totally ignorant about this music genre. That is a profound statement considering I was raised in a house that rang out bluegrass every Sunday.

I agree with Jeff Buntin. "All these guys are incredible musicians." Was listening to the Wailin' Jennys channel on Pandora while working at my desk on day. "Wading Deep Waters" was a stop-me-in-my-work track that brought tears to my eyes. "Who ARE these guys? Must Follow!"

first, these guys are great! secondly, they represent something new emerging from bluegrass tradition in the same way as bluegrass emerged from old time. it's not really 'bluegrass' any more. ever notice how changes in banjo technique reflect changes in genre name? well, it just blows my mind what is happening on banjo these days. and... there's always room for 'cello.
